Hello my friends
Just a quick note to say THANK YOU to all of my friends-- both new and old-- y'all have been a tremendous blessing to us. Your cards, visits, phone calls and especially prayers have really ministered to us.
And Emily, thank you for the iPod... and friends, thank you for the songs! Sometimes we forget how a song can speak to and soothe our hearts. Some are familiar favorites and others are new-- all are amazing. When Rachel brought a box of cards and this gift over, I had no idea that this thing was so itty bitty! I'm glad it already had songs on it and was charged up! My sisters were laughing at me when I was quizzically looking at the package-- after I opened it. I feel like an old fogey when I looked at that thing and wondered There are songs on that?! And here I thought myself familiar with technology and all... I do have a blog, after all! LOL
I'm at the point now where there is so much to say but I don't know where to start or how to get it all out and have it make sense. I imagine I'll just do a handy-dandy bulleted post later. :-) But for now, I'd like to share this rainbow with you. My sister Bobo (okay, her real name is Debbie... just like Coco is Christine and Lele is Leah... oh and Marsha... well, it's just Marsha or Marshy). But I digress...
This beautiful rainbow is from this past Friday evening, the night of Christian's viewing. It was right behind the funeral home... hard to tell in the first picture but it's right above the roofline.
I know it sounds hokey to some or coincidental, but *I* know that this rainbow was for me and my family. This rainbow without a drop of rain (at least where we were) was God reminding me that HE IS FAITHFUL. And that HE KEEPS HIS PROMISES! And let me tell you, my dear dear friends, He really does!!!
Much love to all of you,
Marshie

Hi Marsha;
I am a new friend, but want you to know that I have been praying for you day and night, as God has brought your family to mind.
I love how God blessed you with that beautiful rainbow-a reminder of His love, faithfulness and it seems that He is saying that He has you covered.
I pray that He gives you the strength, comfort and encouragement you all will need in the coming days.
Certainly, He is using your testimony and Christian's life for his glory. Sending a hug and I will continue to lift you up.

The rainbow is God's promise. I know that when He put that there it was to promise that we will see Christian again and what a day of rejoicing that will be! :)
I am so glad for all the support, love and prayers you are receiving!
I am blessed to know you! you are such an amazing example! Love you Marshy!

About the gift, it was really small...I thought the same thing! But I guess you can clip it to any part of your clothing and it barely shows. But at least I knew that it held music. :) haha. (the little magical box of sounds...)
Do you know what?......
You amaze me.
I am inspired by you.
God is please with you.
I wish I lived near you, so I can glean some of this GOD that has poured out onto you. It's practically shining off of the words on my screen.
Remember how Moses had an experience w/ God and then he just shined? That's how I'm feeling about you right now.

To Emily and Coco's comments. You inspire me in such an awesome way. You are living your faith out loud in such a way that I doubt anyone could deny there is a personal God. Look at *your* rainbow. He is involved in every details of our lives.
Marsha, you are an amazing woman who is living in such a way as to inspire a whole multitude of women and families. I believe that your response to your loss will have far reaching effects for years to come because of your conscious choice to live for Him through it all.
I so wish I could be there to give you a real hug. For now, here's a cyber- hug. {{{{{{{ Marsha }}}}}}}

Marsha,
I have to agree with Emily too. You are an inspiration. I could feel the peace of God all over you through my computer as I read your words. I think about you all the time and pray for you. I wish I had've known about the iPod sooner, but by the time I stumbled upon it.. it was already filled up!! Music really speaks to me. It is actually what God used to bring me to salvation. Music comforts me. I know one of the songs you got is "Praise You in This Storm" by Casting Crowns. My favorite line in that song is "Every tear I cry, You hold in Your hand." That Truth brings me so much comfort when pain seems unbearable. I pray that God uses that song and many others to minister to you. I know it sounds strange, but I truly do love you as a dear friend even though we have never met or talked on the phone.
Praying for you!!!
Samantha
P.S.
What is a Nano??? I am an old fogey too.. I just found out what a Blackberry was!!!! Once you finally understand this stuff.. they come out with something new!!!

Marshie,
It's so good to hear from you sweet friend. Jesus is shining all over you :)
I was so excited when I read from Leanne about the rainbow the evening of Christian's viewing. That rainbow was not hokey or coincidental--it was God's promise of His faithfulness to you and your family! God is so very good to send us things to comfort us in our pain.
BTW, I do not have an ipod, but I do have a tiny little MP3 player that will hold way more than the first computer I ever owned-- a 286. (I still have to ask Shane how to put things on it and delete things though. And I thought I was so uptown with my big ole 286 DOS computer way back then, hehe :)

Marsha, it's so good to hear from you. I think of you and "Dozer" and your family SO many times throughout the day. Today I was thinking how wonderful it is that your other precious boys don't have to go off to school during these difficult days, but can be home with you and their daddy to heal at their own paces and get hugs whenever they (or you!) need one and just be a family together. What a blessing that is for them, and for you.
I'm glad you received the iPod and figured out how to use it! I don't know a whole lot about those newfangled gizmos either. Spaz just got an mp3 for his bday as a hand-me-over from his big bro, and I was actually able to put some songs on it-- but only b/c my computer told me what to do! Anyway, I am glad you are enjoying it.
The rainbow... of course it was from God. I love it when He does things like that.

Marsha-
I have been praying for you since the morning that I got a request from friends at the Homeschool Lounge. I pray for you and your family every time God brings you to mind. Last night I watched your tribute to Christian, through some tears I must admit. My 7 yr. old son heard the music and wanted to know all about it. He has such a tender heart, he was very sad and wanted to know that Christian was in heaven and that your family knew Jesus so you would see him again. I assured him that this was the case and that I had been praying for your family. He was so happy to know that your family knows Jesus! We'll keep praying for you, that God will comfort you and that He will work in others lives due to your testimony and Christian's life.

My 15 month old daughter died unexpectantly 3 years ago and during her grave side service, we had a terrible thunder storm; everyone was scrunched under the tent. The moment the pastor finished his final prayer and said "amen", the sun came out and as we walked out from under the tent, the largest rainbow I have EVER seen came across the sky and it was so bright and looked so close we thought we would be able to touch it. The Lord ALWAYS gives us what we need, when we need it. We cannot "store up" on grace, but when we need it, it is certainly there and the Lord gives us exactly what we need. You will be in my prayers for a very long, long time.

Marsha,
You will never know the depths of how the Lord has worked in this situation. There are thousands of people who have been touched by you, and who you will never know about.
The Lord has used it to remind me of how the "norms of homeschooling" - the constant noise, and little feet tripping me up as they're under foot ALL DAY is such a huge privilege.
I blogged from the deepest depths of my heart, and your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ inside of this situation is one of those momental moments in my walk of faith. I will remember you always.
May you KNOW that you are in His grip always,

At the very end of my first date with the hubs we were walking back to my car and above it was a gorgeous rainbow. I found out later that my husband had gone back and told his brother that he knew God was in this relationship when he saw it.
When I first read your girlfriend's post about Dozer's rainbow, I just cried. I truly believe that God sent you that rainbow and you're right, he does keep his promises!
As for the IPOD. I just got D one for his birthday...you're right, it's teensy, gone are the days of cassette walkman's and clunky headphones. (I prefer to think of myself as a classic vs. umm pathetically technologically inept...)
Marsha you and your family are consistently in our prayers. Sending a hug my friend.

Oh, my friend, how beautiful a rainbow it is! I just love when God shows up and gives us that little bit of encouragement to get us through the day. It is refreshing to see your attitude in this time, and encouraging to me as well.
My thoughts and prayers are continually with you!

Dear sweet ones...I pray for you daily to the One who knows every tear. I pray for God to continually show you His rainbows...He is so good to show Himself like that. I am praying especially for you at night...when the house is quiet and God is calling you to rest in Him. I pray His presence is most felt in the stiller moment. I have found that is when I most need His reassurances and to know He is near. I am so glad that you are seeing His love for you in tangible ways.

The Lord is good. It's just like Him to give you that rainbow. What a beautiful blessing.
I want you to know that you are still very much in my thoughts and prayers. It is so good to hear how well your family is weathering this storm, with prayers of the saints and strength from the Lord. I wish I lived closer... but I know I can pray just as much in Minnesota!
With love,
in Him,

Marsha,
I drifted off to sleep last night thinking of you and praying for you. I cannot even imagine the depth of your pain. I have been through some rough times in my own life, but they pale in comparison with your loss. My heart grieves for you and your family. Please know that I am praying for you. Just continue to stay "under the shadow of His wings" and He will carry you through.

Marsha,
I am praying for you and your family. May God comfort you and fill you with His peace through this time.
The rainbow was for you and your family and for others to see that our God is always with us. He will guard us through all the difficult times.
The photo memorial was beautiful and your little one is at home in the arms of his Heavenly Father.
Praying for you,
Ruth

Hi, Marsha. I have been blogging a bit from a distance while out of town and had limited access with the internet so I haven't had a chance to visit. We have been gone for a month. We extended our stay due to my Dad's hospitalization but I just want to tell you that God is faithful. I had a very hard year that only a few blog friends are aware of and other details involved but God is truly faithful. Words can not describe how I feel except because of Him, I can live. I'm so glad you are holding to His promises. I wish I could give you a huge hug but I know He is hugging you always. And yes, I believe that rainbow was for you too.
Love
Kysha
