Marriage, baby and a ham

Geeze, I feel like I have been gone FOREVER!  I'm sure it hasn't been as long as it feels like (or has it)?  Things have been quite busy here in the Drews household.  There is so much that I have on my heart right now and would like to share, I just need a little more time to discern exactly what I should share.  In the meantime, let me get you up to speed with other exciting happenings:

+ My baby sister Bobo is now engaged! I am a bit bummed that I won't get to meet her fiancee until the week of ze wedding, but he seems like a great guy-- has to be for my sister to be smiling nonstop with that goofy I'm in love sound to her voice!  Plus my parents like him.  Let me say that again.... my. parents. like. him.  A. LOT.  My mom will pretty much love you or hate you in about 15 seconds... she's just funny like that.  So Aubs, welcome to the familia!  I hope you know what you're getting yourself into.

Don't they make a lovely couple?

+ Thanksgiving was spent at my parents house.  In addition to the feasting (ham, no turkey-- because it's easier, y'all) and staying up too late so we can talk and play board games, we also looked at a wedding chapel, nailed down a menu for the reception, and helped finalize the fun wedding dress decision.  Hmmm... it's kind of sad interesting how your tastes can change over the course of a decade(+)!  I don't think I would pick the same dress if I had to do it over again.  Would YOU?  What was your dress like back in the day?  And for crying out loud, if you have a picture, PLEASE SHARE! :-)  I don't have a wedding pic handy at the moment but scanning one in is on my list of things-to-do.

+  And if that weren't enough fabulous news for a holiday weekend, this past Saturday was also my parents anniversary, my little brother's 30th birthday, AND the birthdate of said little brother's first child!!!

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY STEPHEN!  AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my newest nephew CADEN MARK!  My sister-in-law Terri couldn't have planned it any better.  Y'all sure do make beeeeautiful babies!

We are actually heading up to Spokane to see little Caden (and his mommy and daddy too, of course!).  Then we'll swing over to Portland to visit my sister Coco for a few days.  So it's busy busy busy around here- and that's not even including anything that's remotely related to Christmas!  Oi.  I think it's going to be a quadruple shot latte kind of month.  I can't wait! :-)

I feel like it has been a long time for me too on this computer!!!!! Exciting news for you and your family!!! We are not in our house yet, due to the rehab construction things that must take place first! Like.. HEAT!!!! I am sitting here in long johns, a coat, scarf and gloves!!!!! We should have a wood stove hooked up tonight for temporary heat! But we still have no toilets! No kitchen! And we just can't afford all this take out! Please pray for me! I am having a really hard time living like this! I am out of sorts! My cats are in Maine, my dog is in the kennel, my horse is still in SC... we are sleeping in my father-in-laws cold basement! Oi!!!!! I am very glad that I am finally with my hubby though!!! Just pray when you think of me! Have fun visiting your family in Washington!!!!! Miss talking with you!

Sounds like there has been mucho excitement in the family - engagements, babies, and birthdays - oh my!

I've been thinking of you (and praying for you) so much. I figure that things are pretty tough missing your littlest man even with all of the joy and excitement. Sending big hugs your way - and hunting for a wedding photo! Can't wait to see yours.

Oh Marsha I so missed you as I thouroughly enjoy reading your blog :) . Interesting that you would ask about weddings because my hubby and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary this Saturday :) Yay! It seems like we are finally at a substantial number (much better than 1,2,3 or 4) + 5 is my favorite number along with any even number. I know I'm weird I used to have this thing were everything had to be an even number or a 5 or I couldn't stand it. Anywho, I loved my dress! I do however wish we would have had a reception at a different location so we could have danced and a a sip of wine to celebrate, but oh well, that's what friends weddings are for. Congrats on that new nephew!!! How precious, I miss everything (almost) about having a newborn. I'll post my favorite wedding pic on my blog.

Hi Marsha,

I get to go wedding dress shopping with my sister soon. She's super picky so I am not sure if it will be fun or not.
Anyway, I loved my dress. It fit my personality perfectly 8 years ago. I still love it today, but not sure if I would have chosen it now. Here's a link to it.

Give Christine a big hug for me when you see her. I think I miss her as much as you do.

Still thinking of you often.

And Portland! It isn't fair! I used to live there, got married there, both my kids were born there, and I haven't been back since we moved over five years ago. Boo hoo! I want to go too!

Portland! You're coming to Portland? When, where, why, how? Oh, if only I could see you! Coco may not appreciate that though. *sigh*.

This is not fair! You can't go to Portland unless I am there!!! Oh man! Make sure you say hi to my mom and dad and brother, and Micah's parents and my brothers-in-law and their wives and all my friends from church and from high school... uh, okay. yes. that'll be enough.

But I also wanted you to know that I still love my wedding dress, though I might pick another one were I to get married again... to Micah of course, just for variety.

Love you.

Same dress?! BAH! I honest to goodness picked a dress that was appropriate for church and something my Daddy would approve of. I think it was quite respectful of me, but to be honest: I am more of a "get married in a field of wild flowers, wearing a white gauzy dress with a wreath of wild flowers around my head" type of gal.

I thought I loved my dress, but it was super uncomfortable! I couldn't raise my arms...yep, I'd choose another one!
How happy I am to read about births and engagements and traveling! I continue to pray for you!

Hey lady!

I'm sure glad you are having such a good time with family! And congrats on the new family members, both young and older :)

Sorry I haven't been around to pop over and say hello; I needed to take a blog break to put some things in order. But know you are very much on my heart and I pray for you always.

Love ya!

What a cutie pie!

Wedding dress-- yes, I'd wear it again 14+ years later. No pics, not sure where they are. Classic, v waist, low back and long lace sleeves with a short train. Hopefully my sweet daughter will wear it when she gets married, at least one of them anyway.

We continue to pray for you esp. during this season without sweet Christian.

Love you,
Christine
BTW, did you get the ornament? It wasn't addressed from me because I found it on ebay. I hate to ask, but I wanted to make sure.
