Odds and Ends and TOSGA winners
Posted in General Ramblings
+ I am sad that Irona is very underappreciated and relatively unknown to y'all. *sigh* Ah well, it's a good thing her feelings aren't easily hurt.
Oh please make the dorkiness stop.
+ TOSGA! TOSGA! TOSGA! Thanks for participating, y'all. I wish I had enough coins and castles to send to everyone. Since I hate to play favorites, I random number thingied the comments and the winner of the ancient coins is homeskool and the winner of the castle building cards is Angela at Becoming Me.
+ I forgot to thank y'all for voting for me in the 2008 Homeschool Blog Awards. So THANK YOU! :-)
+ Did you know that Heart of the Matter has weekly giveaways? This week you can win a book on the "S" word by the great folks here at The Old Schoolhouse Magazine. And for you newbies or non-homeschoolers, the S word is socialization-- this is a family friendly blog and TOS is a family friendly mag!
+ I had a fabulous visit with my friend Leslie in Arkansas. And the lucky-duck that I am also got to meet another bloggy friend. You can meet Amanda too- right HERE. I promise you'll like her, I sure did! And next time, I'll give a little more notice so I can meet up with Chickadee too. (Don't be jealous!)

Sorry Leslie, I have NO idea why we look so sparkly in that picture! Something happened when it uploaded to HSB.. ah well, too bad it makes us look like we have white hairs tangled in there... And Amanda, I should've put my foot down and taken a pic of you.
Well, there's nothing much to report from here. I think my next post will have to be school related- just to remind everyone that we do actually get some learning squeezed in every now and then! I did finally unlazy myself and update the books on my sidebar.

I'm glad you had a nice visit. I'd like to meet Chickadee with ya. :) Anyway, not to be mean or anything, you do have white hair tangled in there. :P Ha ha. I do too so you can make fun of me back.
I love you Marshy!

"Unlazy myself"... I LIKE that.
Of course, I had to check out the books in your sidebar since you mentioned that, and I noticed that you (or your kids) are reading On the Banks of Plum Creek. We just finished that a couple weeks ago and are halfway through By the Shores of Silver Lake. We have not even been in this historical era for the last couple months, but Fuzz will not let me stop reading the books. She is SO into everything Laura at the moment!
I also noticed you had a book by Gloria Whelan and I had to check out that link, too, since I know most of her books are set in MI. We read a lot of them back about 6 yrs ago when I was doing MI history w/Cheez & Spaz, but I hadn't remembered that title. (That doesn't mean we didn't read it. :-) Oh, and having read a book set in MI, don't you think your boys would want to visit there? And don't you have a bloggy friend or two in MI? So wouldn't that work out swell? (Hint: wait a few months if you're not fond of snow.)

As far as "repairing" or taking apart stuff -- you'd better be careful. I can imagine your little men taking apart EVERYTHING in sight. :-)

Well since it was MY camera I got to opt out of having my picture taken! LOL :p Besides, I hate having my picture taken.
I absolutely loved meeting you. It was fun at the La Case del Waffles. LOL
Hugs,
Amanda

I will have a jealousy induced apoplectic fit if you meet Chickadee without me. Just so you know.
...I say we take a road trip *together* to her house. Now THAT would be fun
