Faith and hope and comfort and blessings

Posted in Encouragement and Other Thoughts

Here are a couple of  short poems from Streams in the Desert that have ministered to me the past couple of days:

When nothing thereon to lean remains;
When strongholds crumble to dust;
When nothing is sure but that God still reigns,
That is just the time to trust.

'Tis better to walk by faith than sight,
In this path of yours and mine;
And the pitch-black night, when there's no outer light
Is the time for faith to shine.

***

God is in every tomorrow,
Therefore I live for today,
Certain of finding at sunrise,
Guidance and strength for the wayl

Power for each moment of weakness,
Hope for each moment of pain,
Comfort for every sorrow,
Sunshine and joy after rain.

And one of the benefits of pain is that the sunshine is so much brighter after the rain!!! :-)  If you're feeling down and out, tell God all about it.  Sure He already knows what's in your heart and what's on your mind, but tell Him anyway!  Give your burdens over to Him and let Him carry them for you.  He's listening and waiting for you right now...

I had a difficult time going to sleep the other night- just up thinking about Christian and missing him.

I woke up the next morning and decided to get on the schoolroom computer for a minute.  I opened up a file folder and ran across this:

I remember almost every video clip or picture I have taken... but I don't remember this one.  Isn't God so good to have remembered it and saved it for me to find the very next morning?! :-)  He offers grace in His time, just as we need it.. moment by moment...  And do you know what else?  I ran across a bunch of untitled video clips of Christian.  God sure does love me.. and He is very much in the details!

And I bet you could listen to that contagious laugh of his all day! Isn't it wonderful that you can listen to it any time you want? I'm so glad you shot lots and lots and lots of video!

I love the way kids love to say "Cheeeeese" for the camera.

What an unexpected blessing. It's amazing how God loves to surprise us. I love to "see" God in things that others would find merely coincidental. It makes me all the eager to share my faith.

Have a wonderful weekend and May the Lord fill it with many more sweet surprises :)

Jan. 17, 2009 - What an awesome surprise!

I just love how God is in the details and how He started your day off with a special blessing.

After my dad died, I really struggled because we couldn't find all of the digital photos he had taken. That was 6 years ago and he was the most tech savvy and the rest of us were just kind of clueless about where he saved them, etc... It's always a huge blessing to me when I stumble across one somewhere. I'm so glad that you have so much video and pictures of your family. You remind me of how I need to do more of that.

The part where you're tickling him and he's busting up giggling. I LOVE that.

Love it.

I am so glad God has been your rock since August. It is so inspiring to hear you give him all the glory. I can only imagine your pain and moments of missing Christian so badly.
Please remember that not only God is there for you in those moments but your friends who love you dearly. I am always just a IM or email away.
Love you bunches ,
Vicki

Oh Marsha, How good God is even in our darkest moments. What comfort it must have given you to find those videos. Miss you friend. Sorry it has been so long, but know you are always in my thoughts and always in my prayers.
