Alfredo Sauce

Posted in Recipes

I can't believe I haven't posted this recipe for Alfredo Sauce before.  It's not exactly healthy, but it is delicious!  I usually serve it with linguini and some diced chicken or grilled shrimp.  My fam also loves it over manicotti stuffed with chicken and mozarella (bind it with one egg).  This is enough sauce for 8oz of linguini or double the recipe for a 9x13 pan of manicotti.  No pics this time because... well, we ate it all!

ALFREDO SAUCE

1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup shredded parmesan
(I've found that the kroger brand of parmesan works as well as fancy stuff from the deli- but I'm not exaclty a parmesan expert)
white pepper to taste
(can sub black pepper)

Place all in a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan.  Whisk until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.  Keep a close eye on it so the bottom doesn't burn.  Serve immediately as sauce will start to separate.

Toss in ideas: grilled shrimp, diced chicken, fresh tomatoes

I LOVE alfredo (I think love is an understatement). I make it all the time. I put cream cheese in my recipe but the rest is just about like yours, and I love topping it with fresh tomatoes and blackened chicken...

I gave you an award over at my blog http://nannadays.blogspot.com You don't have to participate, but I just wanted you to know that I think your blog is so encouraging and meaningful.

Have a great day,
Angie

We love alfredo sauce with "fake" crab.

We're in the thinking stages of vacation and are thinking about a TX vacation... Houston is on our list :) It won't be until Sept. but I've been thinking how wonderful it will be to actually meet you and your sweet family :)
Hugs,
Christine

I am going to try this for two reasons:

1. I have all of these ingredients. That is a miracle in and of itself.

2. I tried your cream cheese pound cake for our family get together and every body LOVED it. Especially my nephew, who is very picky. He said "Who taught you how to make this?!?" I said "My friend in Texas." :-)
