Eating cheese is okay, saying it or cutting it? Not so much.
Posted in Kids-Family-Funnies-Etc
I think the days of genuine smiles and normal teeth are long gone. When they are really young, you think it's a good thing when they learn to smile for the camera... until you realize it's the fake, cheesy camera smile that they just can't seem to get rid of!
Then there is our current dilemma-- Tank's pirate smile. The loss of additional front teeth makes him a special pirate- a hillbilly pirate!

Glimpses of genuine smiles are hard to come by, but I can still occasionally capture certain facial expressions that are just "them". Okay, well mostly them.. my boys are too dorky to be looking so serious and normal. But I say that with as much love as a proud mommy can!

Speaking of cheese, that brings me to the subject of the cutting of cheese. There is an inordinately large amount of noxious greenhouse gases floating around the Drews house. And I am not the one responsible for the hole in the ozone layer that lies directly above our abode!
I will give my boys an "A" for creativity though... whenever they fart, they smile or laugh and say "Howdy!" And Dash once cracked me up by telling me "It's a jailbreak mommy!"
I do love my boys. Pirate teeth, stinky bootays and all.

Feb. 5, 2009 - Going to the boys...

You know you are a mom of boys when this is one of your posts, LOL! For some reason, the fa*t word was a dirty word in my family when I was growing up. We were programmed to call it foo-foo. Now as a mom, I think foo-foo sounds just weird so we call it "passing gas". Now everytime our 4 year old "passes gas" he giggles and with the little goofy boy voice says, "hehe...I passed gas".

Ah - the joys of raising boys! LOL Yes, I know all about that hole in the ozone layer - it's happening above our house, too, with all these boys in the house!
Your boys are so handsome! I'm so glad you shared all the cute pictures of them.
Love ya ~ Julie

Cute piratey grins!!!
I don't know why boys think body functions are all so hilarious, but that seems pretty universal. At our house they usually refer to it as "blasting" which - sadly - is often all too accurate. Most distressing is the fact that my dd usually thinks its funny too. *sigh* Although she does know that only boys fart, girls fluff. 8~D

Feb. 6, 2009 - Amazing!

I stumbled upon your blog this afternoon while searching for a blog I use to read a couple of years ago. The blog I was searching for was also by a lady with all boys (at least at the time she had all boys) and I knew at least one of her boys was named Roman, but other than that I remember very little about that family, only that I thoroghly enjoyed reading her blog. So as I searched thru the thousands of blogs I somehow found yours! Now I have spent my daughters naptime reading, sobbing, snotting, praying, reading, sobbing, snotting, praying...etc
You my dear lady are an exceptional BWOG (beautiful woman of God)! At first as I read I thought, she's supernatural. But the more I read the more I realized, you were very much human, and hurting and crying, but you weren't dwelling on it. Your blog is a picture of what I assume your life is! It's very obvious in your blog that your still in a load of pain but you move on from it and search for God's hand and view it all from an eternal perspective! You have the faith of Abraham! I've always thought he was the most faithful to offer up his child without questioning God. You seem to have accepted this and look for the good in it and amazingly thank God for the little gifts He gives you in your grief (the rainbow, the blankie--my three year old sucks his fingers and has a blankie as well...there are so many similarities that brought me to tears) and another thing that blew me away was how you found God's hand preparing you for this. I feel so blessed to have "met" you this afternoon and I will be back! And you can add me to the list that prays for the Drews family upon every rememberance!
God bless you!
Marie

Sad to say, it apparently doesn't "mature" out of them. My dear son just turned 18 this week and still has his...er...cloud hanging over him!
Oh, and there are many other things that can be prepared in a rice cooker. There is even a Yahoo Group about it!

Did Hillbilly-Pirate ever tell you that Uncle Aubs is the one who taught him to say Howdy whenever he passed the gas? Yeah...before they ever even met :)
