I don't need no stinkin' Valentine

Posted in Kids-Family-Funnies-Etc

I don't need a Valentine to shower me with chocolates, diamonds and romance.  Who needs that when I have the most beautiful cup of flowers and weeds given by a young man who thinks I am the bestest cooker in the history of the whole world?

So what are your V-day plans?  Are your expectations realistic?  Will you remember to give and do without the hope of receiving anything in return? (Although a payment in kisses and hugs can go a very long way!)

Dear sweet Austin. :)
Hmmm.... let's see. We'll be out of town AGAIN. We'll probably get to eat something yummy. Jason already got me a card and a box of yummy chocolates. I need to sneak out sometime and at least get him a card. Hugs and kisses are indeed the best though. Love you Marshy!

How sweet! I remember when my boys did that for me. It does mean so much! They still bring me flowers from the yard and they are old enough now to know weed from flower, but honestly, I wouldn't care. It's the fact that they think of you that matters!!

Praying for you, Marsha! Hope you're doing well. Stop by and seem me sometime!

God bless you - Julie

Doncha just luv kiddy bouquets? :o) We love Valentines here!
Dh has to go to S Africa on the 14th so we are celebrating at home on the night before.
-Steak dinner with all the trimmings - three courses! All the food is already in the fridge and freezer. I have bought a little each week to spread the cost.
-Kids eating early - a red meal of course!
-Chocolate fondue while we watch the movie - mmmmm! Love chocolate! And my fondue pot is shaped like a Hershey's kiss!
-I preordered 'Fireproof' while we were stateside and my Mom has sent it over. We have never seen it since it was out of the cinemas by the time we got stateside and it came out on DVD three days after we left to come home. So that is our special Valentines movie!
-I already have something special picked out of my 'Drawer of many blessings'. Two years ago I managed to get a slinky nightie that is embroidered with red hearts on pink satin. I keep it special for Valentines!
-The kids and I are making valentines decorations and cards for the next couple of days. And we are reading the Legend of the Valentine book with our childminding kids too!
-I have also planned lots of little things to tuck into his suitcase complete with many hidden SHMILY notes! :o)
Just thought I'd share what we have planned! Hope everyone has a great time showering their families with Love!

"Bestest Cooker" is pretty high praise. That one would be hard to beat! :) Looks like you have a very sweet centerpiece to use for whatever meal you're cooking up next.

And speaking of cooking up, I think I need to try your alfredo sauce. Looks verrrrry yummy! :)

My dh and I don't do much on Valentine's day. To me, it's pretty much a Hallmark holiday. We'd rather say I love you all year long than just Feb. 14th.

That being said, I love to make homemade valentine cards with the kids, decorate boxes and go to valentine's day parties.
