Good husband, bad idea
David just walked into the room with a stack of mail in his hands. He says "Uh-oh. IRS for..." and then proceeded to name our business name.
I'm pretty much thinking this cannot be good and had that pukey feeling in my stomach.
Thoughts of a previous letter from the IRS saying we owed $13,000 ran through my head-- fortunately, that incident was simply a clerical error and easily fixed (whew!). But this time?!

He continues to read "Blah blah blah... please notify us of where to send... the overpayment..."
Overpayment?! He is just lucky I didn't have something in my hand to throw at him-- a fistful of coupons just wouldn't have caused the appropriate amount of damage!!! Okay, I'm going to calm down now. Maybe.
Seriously though, IS IT EVER A GOOD IDEA TO KID ABOUT THE IRS?! I think not. And this is definitely not something that is easily forgotten just because you say "I love you, baby!" with a smile on your face. In fact, perhaps the smile is not a good idea. And that he laughed? Yah, not a wise move either buddy.
Ack! I still feel my heart racing and all weird in my stomach. And someone needs to give David some marriage tips here. Y'know, like a top 10 list of things NOT to do!
David definitely balances me. I am not a prankster by nature, but he is. He usually holds back on playing tricks on me because the benefits don't always ever outweigh the consequences. :) I guess this time he just didn't have enough self control!
I need to go walk 10 miles or do the super hula hoop on the Wii fit... anything to get unfrazzled.

You know... sometimes our husbands are more like our daddy than they think. :P Definitely something daddy would do. Your husband is a prankster like daddy and my husband sounds like daddy when he burps. Oi! :P How many times does the word "daddy" appear in my comment? LOL. Sorry.... I'm weird today. Much more-so than usual.
David- THINK before you SPEAK son!!! :P

OHHHHHHHH, my word. We too had a moment yesterday.
Let me explain:
I find a humongous spider on the floor (it was big, very black, with a 3" leg span). It was upside down, so I thought it was dead and went over with my flip flop to flip it over to have a look and OH MY LANDS it jumps up!
Fast forward... Micah and I are bent over the thing and Micah has his arm around me (we've determined it's about to breathe it's last, so it was safe...) and he pretends to FLING the thing up onto me!
(*Note* -- He was faking, but still!) I proceed to FLING his arm right off of me and then kick him for his cruelty! I was MAD (and scared, mind you)! He was laughing harder than I've seen him laugh in a LONG time! MEAN. He sobered up after he realized how much he'd riled me... and I was able to calm down in a few minutes.
He reverts to this grade-school-type-humor every now and then, and I must admit, it usually cheers us all up, but... usually it's at someone else's expense!
Just had to share :)
Love ya,

I just realized that you intentionally did not mention your business... I forgot that you are probably being watched by an underground mafia... :) I didn't mean to be snoopy!

UGH!
Anything that has IRS on it is evil. lol.
We, also, got a " you owe 30,000 to us" kind of letter. All I could think was, Geez, John doesn't make enough money for us to owe you $30,000. Our accountant found it and fixed it. Thank GOD. Truly. We were thanking HIM greatly.
We have never over payed since we have our own business. :(

my hubz went to the bank a couple weeks ago and found that the irs had taken a big chunk of $$ from his business account. he went to his accountant, who called to find out what was up. it was for taxes owed in 2007, they said. we paid everything for 2007, said the accountant. yes we know, said the irs, we have the money but we can't find the paperwork so we can't allot the money to the proper account so we took more.
true story. and one of the ways in which it truly pays to have a good accountant. we had our money back within a couple days-- but not w/o a parting shot from the irs: "well, you might owe money for 2008." not a chance, said our accountant. it was a cover-your-butt statement.
the audacity, eh?
(i know your post was not really about the irs but about your husband. however, it sparked the thought...)
