Musings ~ Blue
Hey! Sorry that it's been so long.. I took my little trip! But I don't have the pictures ready yet..so I'll post about later.
I've only got a few minutes before my computer battery goes out on me, so this will be brief.
For one, I wanted to let you know that I updated the templates for my other two blogs, http://homeschoolblogger.com/joyfulnoize and http://homeschoolblogger.com/bethanysbooks. Hopefully I'll start updating them regularly... :D
I was talking with several different people today and something struck me, not for the first time. In our society today, the way kids are growing up, once they hit the teen years, they just have to have a boyfriend or girlfriend. It's just a fact of life for them..like that they get a job when they're 16. Or that they go to college after graduation..only more definite. It's sad...becuase they don't even see it. Instead they get hurt over and over again, thinking that each new boyfriend (or girlfriend) is "the one." It's really sad to see it on a first-hand basis like I have been. But it makes me feel even more sure about my commitment to not date....and to not even THINK about marriage until GOD does something..not me.
Well, I better go..battery signal's bad. :) Tata for now!

Oh I forgot to encourage you to keep to your commitment on your stand about boyfriends. I totally agree with you. While I am married now for two years and 3 months, my hubby was my first boyfriend ever. I had made the decision at around 11 I think it was, not to "date around" cause what would I do with a boyfriend that I couldn't do with a regular guy friend? My first kiss was with my hubby after the wedding at the hotel. A lot of people thought I was weird for not doing the kiss at the wedding but I felt that it was a very private moment for both of us and didn't want to share it with everyone. I am so grateful that I kept to my commitment about it, hubby didn't come to know Christ until he was around 16 or so and he regrets not giving control over his life sooner, he said he would of made the decision not to "date around" also sooner so he would regret his past girlfriends. It is just a wonderful feeling know that you can give your whole heart to the man that God has for you and not just pieces of it because you gave some of it away already. Some one once told me that dating is like buying a car, you have to test drive different models around before you find the one that you really want. I tell them, I knew what kind I wanted from the beginning, I didn't settle for less or change my mind and when I bought my car, I was the first one to test drive it so why should I settle for anything less in the rest of my life? Sorry to keep rambling like that, hope it helped some.

Hey!
That was a great post. You're right that most teens today - even Christian teens - are caught up in having a boyfriend/girlfriend. It's sad that most girls who want a close, fulfilling relationship turn to guys rather than to God! Thanks for sharing your stand; it's encouraging to hear about girls who are willing to go against the flow to do what's right. :)
And, thanks again for your template help . . .maybe I'll have time to work on it after school starts. :D
God bless!

Twila Paris! She's been around for a long time. She has some great music! I love so many of her songs, but only 9 are on this playlist.
Feel free to skip around if there's one you don't care for as much. :) Leave me feedback, please!
