So!

We went on vacation a few weeks ago and got back almost a week ago. It was fun. We suprised my Gramma for her birthday. =] We brought the dog, too, which was ok at first.. but he ended up keeping us awake a lot towards the end. Also, my Dad was on the radio while we were there, which was cool. But this is not what I really wanted to blog about! =]

Tomorrow (technically today) I start school! And I'm actually pretty excited about it..and that's weird. I'm not usually, lol. But for some reason I'm feeling particularly motivated right now, which is a good thing.

I made a list of all of the books I want to read this school year. Once we get my curriculim straightened out tomorrow, I'll probably stick those on a list, too. But right now, this is what I have. =] I'm going to also add it to my side bar so you can keep track of my progress.. I have a feeling it'll help me stay accountable.

·         Blame It On The Brain? E. Welch
   (I started this a while ago, but got delayed.)

·         What Your Counselor Never Told You W. Backus
   (My dad read this and really liked it. Since I want to become a Christian conuselor, I'm going to read it, also)

·         Telling Each Other The Truth W. Backus
   (Another one my Dad recommends..to a lot of people. It's not specific to counseling)

·         Don’t Waste Your Life J. Piper
   (My dad read this a few weeks ago and thinks EVERYONE should read it)

·         Competent to Counsel J. Adams
   (Jay Adams is a great man, Dad said I should read at least one of his books..as you can see, I hope to read more than one!)

·         Theology of Christian Counseling J. Adams

·         The Christian Counselors Manual J. Adams

·         The Biblical View of Self-Esteem, Self-Love, Self-Image J. Adams

·         Don’t Check Your Brain At The Door J. McDowell
    (I got this book a year or two ago, but I still haven't read it yet.)

·         Shadow of The Almighty E. Elliot
    (I got this about a year ago when I was on a real James Elliot kick, but obviously, haven't read it yet.)

·         Tramp For The Lord C. ten Boom
    (I've gotten about a third of the way into this book..it's very good)

·         A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart E. George
    (Another one I've had for a while, but haven't read)

·         Through The Shadowlands B. Sibley
    (I got this about a month ago, and I'm very eager to read it! My mom already has, since I bought it)

·         Being A Girl Who Serves S. K. Primicer
    (I was excited to get this book, but, being me, I left it on my shelf for a loonnng time and have yet to read it.)

·         Losers Club J. Kinley
    (Another one I've had for a while. It looks very interesting, and I'm hoping to use it someone while teaching the kids at church.)

·         Who Calls Me Beautiful R. Franklin
    (My mom found this book at the thrift store where she works and got it for me, She suggested I read it and give it away on my book blog...more on that later)

 I'll also want to read a book on speed-reading and SAT prep. =]

Now. My book blog! Oh, what fun we shall have! I've decided that I'm going to start reviewing books on it..finally. And some of them, I'll give away! Most will be brand new, a few might be used.
