Hello! Welcome to Eclectic Education Homeschool! My name is Lynn and I am a Homeschooling WAHM. I write here about my daily happenings at home with my two darling sons. When I am not busy taking care of children, I write for
eHow, make pages on
Squidoo, and spend time designing merchandise for
Lynn's Boutique. I also make free curriculum for homeschoolers to use at
Homeschool Launch. I would love for you to check out my work. I hope that this blog will be a blessing to other Homeschool mothers and be a light for my Savior Jesus. So please pour yourself a cup of coffee and sit back and enjoy! Please also feel free to check out my website,
Eclectic Education Homeschool Curriculum, for more homeschool tips. Thank you for visiting!
Sep. 26, 2007~ Weblink Wednesday ~ |
I didn't have much time to prepare for this weeks Weblink Wednesday, but I did want to share a few sites that are more recent finds that I think will become very important to me. Language Arts (at least the mechanics of it) is one of my least favorite subjects to teach. I found some sites that should help. First is grammar lessons for grades 1-6. I really wish I would have had these when my oldest was young!!! This site provides both instruction and worksheets for grammar. It can be found here:
http://www.sfreading.com/resources/ghb.html
The next site offers information important to understanding grammar. It explains all those mind boggling terms like what is a preposition and how is it different from a direct object and even more importantly how in the world are they used!!!! That site can be found here:
http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/
The last site is list of spelling words and online activities for grades 1-8. With this list, you may not need to buy a spelling book every again!

I hope you enjoy these sites! I know I will find them quite useful! |

I don't like the mechanics of grammar either- who made it SO complicated anyhow?? And who is really checking to see if I am starting or ending in a preposition in my life? lol
What is strange, is that my 6yr old 1st grader has taught himself to read without my formally teaching him (only correcting him and giving him info that he needs at the time), this will be kind of like a review though.. Thanks for the links :)
