Hello! Welcome to Eclectic Education Homeschool! My name is Lynn and I am a Homeschooling WAHM. I write here about my daily happenings at home with my two darling sons. When I am not busy taking care of children, I write for eHow, make pages on Squidoo, and spend time designing merchandise for Lynn's Boutique. I also make free curriculum for homeschoolers to use at Homeschool Launch. I would love for you to check out my work. I hope that this blog will be a blessing to other Homeschool mothers and be a light for my Savior Jesus. So please pour yourself a cup of coffee and sit back and enjoy! Please also feel free to check out my website, Eclectic Education Homeschool Curriculum, for more homeschool tips. Thank you for visiting!

~ Thoroughly Organized Thursday ~

Thoroughly Organized Thursday Meme Button

Welcome to the Thoroughly Organized Thursday Meme!  I hope you are having a good week.

Organization tip:

Photobucket

I tend to teach by topic, so after years of loosing papers I came up with this plan.  I use to stick papers in a subject folder but there would be too many topics in one folder and I would loose them.  Now if I print out a paper on "bears", it goes in the "bears" folder or if I print out a booklet on "penguins" it goes in the "penguins" folder.  This way if we are doing a project and I need something, I can go strait to that folder.  I know this would not work for everyone, but if you teach by units or topics, it might work for you.   Tina had a similar system in her first Thoroughly Organized Thursday post if you want to read about it.

So, what are you doing to prepare for school?  I would love to hear all about it!!!

Hi Lynn. We have been doing this for years too. It stems from my Early Childhood Education Classes so many years ago. I had such a fantastic teacher. Another great idea which I will share later is to put a quarters worth of plans in an expanding file. Great for coop as it goes out the door easily. The curret files I am using have 13 pockets. I forgot about TOT this week and did not plan ahead though I did post something. So will get photos up next week for all the cool items I am using in school for organization next week.

That is great idea. We use some unit studies and stuff, so that would work for us.

Maybe I can join your meme next week! I can't think of anything today...

That is a good idea! I have a file folder holder, but it's not as big as yours! I think I need one for my kids to keep their loose things in. Right now they use drawers, but they get very messy.
