Hello! Welcome to Eclectic Education Homeschool! My name is Lynn and I am a Homeschooling WAHM. I write here about my daily happenings at home with my two darling sons. When I am not busy taking care of children, I write for eHow, make pages on Squidoo, and spend time designing merchandise for Lynn's Boutique. I also make free curriculum for homeschoolers to use at Homeschool Launch. I would love for you to check out my work. I hope that this blog will be a blessing to other Homeschool mothers and be a light for my Savior Jesus. So please pour yourself a cup of coffee and sit back and enjoy! Please also feel free to check out my website, Eclectic Education Homeschool Curriculum, for more homeschool tips. Thank you for visiting!
Oct. 26, 2008~ Picture Book Interactive Notebook ~
Something new that I am doing with Little One is an interactive notebook for the picture books that we are reading. So far we have 3 picture books done. They are How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World, Apples to Oregon, and Stellaluna. A lot of the stuff that we have put in the notebook come from Homeschool Share and Enchanted Learning. Doing a notebook on the picture book helps us dig deeper into the story and learn more about the things they talk about, such as learning about the different countries in How to Make an Apple Pie or about bats and owls in Stellaluna. By keeping a notebook, it gives Little One something he can go back and look at to remember the story better. It also gives a keepsake of his work. We used a spiral ringed scrapbook (that has thick, white paper in it) that I got from Hobby Lobby. I got them when they were 50% off, so they were just a little over $3.50 a piece. Here are some pictures. If you want to see any of them more closely, just click on the picture and it will freeze and enlarge.
I thought you might like this awesome new movie! It is called Come What May! It supports the fight for life, inspires the Godly marriage and encourages purity. You can even veiw it free today and tomorrow yet! It is so worth the time. I am trying to get the word out before everyone goes to vote, too!
It was made by over 40 homeschoolers! Way to go homeschoolers! A+

It's been a long time since I've stopped by and you always have something good going. The notebook on StellaLuna is excellent; it reminded me of how much dust is now collecting on my Dinah Zike's books. Our year has been crazy, and it's been all I can do to hang on with a workbook. I want to think things are returning to normalcy and that I'll be able to get ahead enough on my schedule to incorporate some of the more imaginative techniques that make learning so much fun. Enjoy!
