Jul. 20, 2009~ Happy Birthday PC! ~
Today (Sunday) my oldest son, PC turned 13 years old . We were very lucky to have been given 4 Dayton Dragons (our local Class A baseball team, farm team to the Cincy Reds) tickets by one of my husband's clients. We had a wonderful time. The weather was great. It was in the high 60's, not too cold, but cool enough that we weren't frying. We even all wore long pants, who would have thought in the middle of July??? We showed up a little late. We had some timing issues. lol!!! But that is ok, it probably helped, since LO was getting a little antsy at times. Anyways, we got there right before the bottom of the 3rd and that is when things really livened up!!! The other team had one point and we had 0. Anyways, in the 3rd the Dayton Dragons got 6 runs!!! So, like I said, we got there in time!!! Then things slowed down and in the 8th inning, neither team had made anymore points. Going into the 9th, we split up. Hubby went with the boys so they could "run the plates" after the game and I was waiting where they were suppose to come off the field. So we figured the game was almost over because it is 6- 1 (Dragon's favor) and after they gave the other team one more chance it was done with. Well, the other team took off and almost caught up!!! The Dragons' pitcher must have been getting tired because he walked I think 2 players and the other team got 3 runs!!! It was really nerve racking at the end. The bases were loaded, there were 2 outs, and 3 balls. The batter (on the other team) hit it good.... then the Dragons caught it! :) We won 6- 4, but if they would have missed catching the ball, we very well could have lost since the bases were loaded. After that, the boys got to run the bases which they thought was a blast. It really was a wonderful night. What a way to spend your first day as a teenager (or a teenager's parent). Happy Birthday Prince Caspian!!!
Oh boy! 13! I am not ready for that one, but can't do anything about it. I am glad you all enjoyed your cooler evening. We've been enjoying the weather as well. Although, we ended up not going camping because it would be too cold to swim! Imagine that, in July!

Sounds like lots of fun. And the game, what a blast. We really enjoy baseball in our house. :)
Sarah's going to be 14 this August, so I have the first teen years under my belt. So far so good. I just have to be sure I'm available to talk when she wants to. I'm sure it will be fine with you. :)

Happy belated birthday to PC!!! I am thankful that all went well at the ballgame. Jenn is busy with Grace's birthday slumber party tonight. They are decorating their own cupcakes, which is Grace's idea because she loves crafts. (-:
Blessings, Karen
