Wow! It's hard to believe there is just a little over a month and a half left of the year!!! Well, this is the time to start thinking of getting organized for the holidays and for the new year. This time of year I always start looking for calendars and day planners. lol!!! Well, I went and checked at one of my favorite places that has a really great chore organizer and saw they have 2009 ready to sell and they did not raise the price which makes it even better!!!

Set aside time to do planning. I know it sounds simple enough, but a lot of us get caught up in the day to day grind and forget to plan. If it's not on the calendar or in the planner, it will likely get forgotten.

~ Thoroughly Organized Thursday ~

Welcome to the Thoroughly Organized Thursday Meme! I hope you are having a good week.

Organization tip:

I tend to teach by topic, so after years of loosing papers I came up with this plan. I use to stick papers in a subject folder but there would be too many topics in one folder and I would loose them. Now if I print out a paper on "bears", it goes in the "bears" folder or if I print out a booklet on "penguins" it goes in the "penguins" folder. This way if we are doing a project and I need something, I can go strait to that folder. I know this would not work for everyone, but if you teach by units or topics, it might work for you. Tina had a similar system in her first Thoroughly Organized Thursday post if you want to read about it.

So, what are you doing to prepare for school? I would love to hear all about it!!!

~ Thoroughly Organized Thursday ~

Welcome to the Thoroughly Organized Thursday Meme! I hope you are having a good week.

Organization tip:

This week I have been hard at work getting school plans in order and getting our physical space organized that I really haven't had much time for blogging or time to give much thought to my organizational tip, but what I can suggest as a tip is get as much planning done before school starts so your days go smoothly. Some things I am doing to prepare for school are:

1. Getting my lesson plans in order.

2. I hope to have my homeschool planner done before school starts.

3. I want my schoolroom reorganized.

4. I'm going to ask Hubby to hang my shelves in the kitchen by my desk and the white board up over the desk.

5. Ask Hubby to hang the white board in the hallway by the garage.

6. Clean off my computer desk.

So, what are you doing to prepare for school? I would love to hear all about it!!!
