Confessions of a Homeschool Mom

I'm overwhelmed!

I am amazed at the condition of my house.  After being in bed for virtually 4 months, I have been up and around for about a month.  The more I clean, the more I see that needs to be cleaned.  And I don't mean your normal, everyday cleaning.  This is deep down cleaning, the kind that takes alot of time and energy.  Today I cleaned out the laundry room.  This room is the size of a large closet and it literally took me all day, and I'm still not done. What's overwelming is that every room in my house needs cleaning like this.  Sometimes I get so overwhelmed I do nothing except sit around and think about what needs to be done.

On a happier note, I have had 4 headache free weeks!  God has healed me, for which I will be eternally grateful.  I will not take my health for granted again.

I am glad you are feeling better! Deep cleaning every room, that is not a fun job! When I deep clean I always make sure I'm wearing my grungy clothes as I seem to get covered in dirt and grime. It sure feels good when it's done. Good luck on your cleaning.

Mar. 15, 2006 - Easy to be overwhelmed...

Please don't make things worse on yourself than they need to be. I have a terrible habit of this...so I know! lol :-P Maybe you could just do one MAJOR project/room per week. And don't forget to get the kiddos to help you. Count is as a "life-skills" school assignment!

So HAPPY that you're feeling so much better.

Also, thanks for your previous post, Holy Moments, to remind us all what's REALLY important. Now, don't forget that in your desire to deep clean your home. I'm always torn between being a Martha or a Mary - sounds like you might be too. :-)

It is so hard when we are overwhelmed. I, know, I get that way a lot lately. My baby is 7 weeks old and our life still doesn't feel normal. DO what you can, and don't worry about the rest. I know that's hard because every time you walk into a room you get overwhelmed at all that needs to get done...speaking from experience here.

Thanks for the encouragment over at my blog. Extra weight stinks! The battle is soo hard, but I know that it will get easier to fight. You sound a like a great mom and wonderful lady.

About Me

Homeschool moms are not perfect! Sometimes we imagine every other homeschool family has "it all together". Well, guess what? Mine doesn't. This is a journal of my journey through homeschooling. It's not all pretty, but it's all life.
