Psuedotumor Cerebri

Have you ever heard of this?  Me either, but it is apparently what is wrong with me.  I finally (almost) have a diagnosis.  It is when you have too much brain fluid and the pressure in your head is too high (thus, the terrible headaches).  The neurologist said she cannot make a definitive diagnosis without a MRI and a MRA, blood work and an opthamalogist's exam.

But, I feel alot better.  I think this situation has already begun to resolve itself with out medicine or procedures.  I think God has decided to heal me so He can get all the glory and credit and that's fine with me.

I'm glad to have a name to what's been wrong with me these past few months.  I'm even gladder to feel better!

Have a great day!

finally have a diagnosis...a name to put to those headaches. Not that it resolves it but there is some strange comfort in knowing that it has a name and that it actually exists. Praise the Lord!

I have also recently been diagnosed with psuedotumor cerebri. I encourage you to follow up with your eye doctor as soon as possible. It was discovered that both of my optic nerves were severely swollen and I was in jeopardy of permanetly losing my eye sight. I have since had a lumbar shunt inserted to keep the pressure in my head at a "normal" level and had the optic nerve in my right eye cut open to relieve the pressure in it. Stay strong and keep on top of your neurologist. If you are not pain free then they need to keep working on it!

I am also a homeschool mom. I have heard of this because I also have psuedotumor cerebri. I went to a nuero opthamoligist in Oklahoma City who specializes in this problem. He is a wonderful and prayerful doctor. I have been symptom free for four months with no medications. I also have a pituitary empty sella syndrome which predisposes you to psuedotumor cerebri. You may have them check into that.

About Me

Homeschool moms are not perfect! Sometimes we imagine every other homeschool family has "it all together". Well, guess what? Mine doesn't. This is a journal of my journey through homeschooling. It's not all pretty, but it's all life.
