Dear Secret Sister,
Thank you so much for the recent care package! I loved the wooden pray plaque, and I am very excited to open the other presents! Also, belated thanks, for your initial letter and the Yankee Candle Car Jar! I’ve been in a bit of a February Funk lately, and your encouragement has been much appreciated!
You asked what kind of things I enjoy in life. God has blessed me richly! I most enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy reading, playing games, baking (and eating ), watching movies, and (shh!) certain reality television shows. Oh, and blogging, of course! Although I am a natural home-body, I love to get together with people too. We’ve recently begun hosting a weekly church home fellowship group, and I have been blessed by spending consistent time with fellow believers. I love to worship, and especially love harmonizing with my husband while he plays the guitar and sings. One of my favorite things is Bible Study, especially Women’s Bible Study. I am a certified Precept Bible Study leader, but have not led a study for a few years. I miss the time with other women that I once found to be so enriching, edifying, and encouraging, but I am excited to be able to teach my kids how to study the Bible themselves. I also like to scrapbook, but it’s been over a year since I touched any of my scrapbooks, so I just keep taking pictures and figure that soon enough, there will be time for scrapbooking once again (I actually have time now, but need to get organized before I can get to the fun part.) When the weather is warmer, I like to go hiking and camping. I love the peacefulness and beauty of God’s creation! I am very much a spectator, and I love sports. I like to watch NFL football, the Olympics, and any sport in which my kids are playing.
We are very fortunate to be able to home-educate our children. I am glad to keep them at home with me, although I don’t always relish the teaching part----not that they’re difficult to teach. It just takes work, diligence, creativity, planning, and consistency which can be very challenging to me. But God is good, and He is continually stretching me and sanctifying me through my children and homeschooling. Our conviction to continue homeschooling is definately growing, despite the challenges!
If you read through some of my past entries, you’ll learn much more about me. I’ve recently posted some of my favorite Fiction books, I also enjoy some Christian biographies and theological books. In response to some of your other questions, I have tried the Melon candles, and the fragrance is too strong. Strong fragrances give me an immediate headache, and cause my eyes to itch. I don’t use a lot of lotions or perfumes for the same reasons, although there are some that don’t bother me at all from Bath & Body works (Sweet Pea). Many will cause my hands to break out in a rash. My best bet is to stick with Gold Bond lotion. I do love wooden crosses and other sorts of wooden accents. I especially love to decorate my house with Scripture and distinctive Christian accents, so the pray wall hanging is just perfect! Thanks again!
Well, I still have many things that I must accomplish this afternoon, so I will close. May God richly bless you and your family and encourage you as you have encouraged me!
In Him,
Angel
