May. 15, 2008 - I know,
I know. I have been lazy. I have somethings to write about though. Well, this morning I was cleaning up my room so the window cleaners can wash my windows. I was taking something out to the garage, and Laura was my, so to speak, " door opener" . She was opening the laundry room door when she looked down and found an ant nursery. There were proboally 100 ants, and 300-500 larve. It was neat and gross. Neat because we just learned about ants, and how each one has it's own job. But it was kinda gross to know that my mom saw them there yesterday, and there were no larve. So, either they brought the "queen" there, or made our laundry room their new home. YUK! So, here comes the sad part. we had to dispose of them right? Now, for you animal lovers, please do not think that I enjoyed doing this or did it just to be mean. God made ants to live outside, not in my laundry room. My mom went and got a can of lysol and sprayed them. they literally died when it hit them. We are ant free for the day. And one other thing. I would never do this if the ants were where thay belong.
OH, about a week ago, my family and I went on a walk to a creek behind our house. Jake and I used to go and help out Laura's daycare, and we would take the kids to this creek(the daycare was in-home, and about 2 blocks away). We went there last week to do science. It was so neat. You could really feel the presence of God. There is a BIG open meadow, and little yellow flowers. The creek was flooded though. Jake and I diddn't hesitate, we went right through the water and got our feet wet, if you will. Siince it was flooded, mom and Jesse stayed behind and played. The flooded water had created a "waterfall" into the creek. It was so pretty. Then we did science. Which brings me back to the ants. That is part of what we learned about. How each ant has it's own jub, and how each one has a duty to protect the others.
Well, we're going on a "hike" tomorrow, and it has a big creek. i gotta go, And oh, check out my new blog from time to time. bye!
