Still Healthy!
|
And the kids are on the mend too. But I AM sorry to report that the actual brushing of the dogs' teeth happened on Saturday morning when I was out running errands. My husband and daughter planned it that way. They didn't want the whole event to be a source of cheap entertainment for me...and fodder for a blog entry.
Reportedly it went well, overall. Both dogs were quite thrilled with the beef flavored non foaming enzymatic toothpaste. The shaggy facial hair and scruffy beard of the littlest dog was somewhat problematic, as the long hair kept getting caught in the twirling brush. Ouch. She was none to pleased about it, naturally. So she will get an old fashioned toothbrush from the dollar store instead.
I do have a new concern. I know that my kids can get toothpaste on the walls, ceiling, mirror and shower curtain every time they use their battery powered brushes. It's a bit horrifying to think about sprays of doggie plaque and beef flavored toothpaste. I think their dental care regime MUST be done outside.
My husband is a good man...even though he doesn't like me to blog about him! Proverbs 12:10 says that a good man cares for the needs of his animals (my paraphrase) and I imagine that includes brushing their teeth! I think He's even "gooder" because he brought me a big bouquet of tulips (my favorite flower) on Friday. Aren't they lovely?

Your tulips are gorgeous!!! They make me feel like spring :)
I have to say I am disappointed there are no doggie tooth brushing pictures. Yep, I'd think that is an outside project LOL.

Beautiful flowers and praying you don't get sick...
I am sending out a "mass apology" to everyone I told about "The Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge". I have received some comments in regard to leaving the button on people's blogs and I feel the best way to make sure there aren't others who are offended, is to apologize to those I sent the notice to.
I feel just horrible that some thought I was "advertising" in some way when my intention was to share with other homeschoolers what I was offering as encouragement and a way for us to join together.
If you are one who was upset by my post, please feel free to delete it and email me or leave a comment on my page and I will personally apologize. To those who have joined in The Challenge, I'm so looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us and hope we will all be able to bless our families and grow in the Lord through it! Thank you most importantly for seeing my heart. I never meant to disregard anyone's post when I left the comment about the Challenge, and want you all to know that anything you ever have to say to me, whether on topic or not, is more than welcome on my blog. I will also be making a new category on my blog that will list those of you who don't mind getting urgent prayer requests or information from time to time. I hope this way I will be able to avoid upsetting anyone similarly in the future.
Thanks for allowing me to comment on your blog. I hope you will accept my apology (and not be upset that I'm "off topic" from your post, but I have many people to get to still tonight).
In Him,
Amy Verlennich

I am sorry that you missed the doggie teeth brushing!! I am also one of the owners that feel brushing a dogs teeth is important, the first time I did it in front of my DH though I thought he was going to have heart attack! LOL But not only does it help them live longer it makes them easier to be around! Dog breath is the worst!! I am not sure why he was so shocked when I bought our daughter the gum brush once she was old enough? But yep I am a frim believer God gave us ALL teeth to be brushed!

I'm so glad you didn't get the flu-bug. It's hard to keep up a family when sickness hits, even when the immune system isn't compromised. I was praying for you!
