There's no place like home...

although I must say we all enjoyed our time away! We spent a week cottaging (my computer is telling me that’s not a word) with family and friends on Lake Huron in Michigan.  It was a blissfully relaxing time, complete with all the features you’d expect from a lakeside cottage vacation ...sunburn in spite of sunscreen...children (LOTS of cousins) shouting and splashing in the water...screen door banging...flip flops flipping...lemonade and gritty sandwiches on the beach...one dollar ice cream cones from the camp store...sitting out on the cedar swing with a cup of tea watching the sun set...sandy sheets at night.. falling asleep to the sound of lapping waves... Yes, it was every bit as idyllic as it sounds...just a lovely, lovely time. Here’s a photo of one of the sunsets.  The cement block boathouse was built by my husband’s grandfather many years ago.

When I was seven we moved from sunny Key Largo to northern MI. We lived there for a year. I remember the first time I saw Lake Michigan, I was shocked that it was a lake, it looked more like an ocean to me!! I was amazed that I could not see the other side. Looks and sounds like you are making wonderful memories!

Beautiful!! I love being by the water. I am so glad Dad's cottage is only 45 min. from here and he shares freely :) I am so looking forward to a week there in Aug. Even though we go up almost every week and often spend the night, it isn't the same as a whole week at the lake.

That sunset is gorgeous!!
