The most ludicrous "holiday" greeting award...
|
I just have to hand it out today.
This is the ultimate in a meaningless waste of paper. While going through a stack of Christmas Cards in today's mail, I opened a 6" square shiny card from a software group my husband is associated with. Here was the profound sentiment printed in lovely flowing script...."World Peace through World Commerce"
Umm, yeah. That should do it. It's working really well so far, isn't it?!
Thank God we know the Prince of Peace.

Yes, hand them that award. That's even more absurd than the response I received from Stonyfield Farms today when I e-mailed them and commented on how surprised I was when I saw the lid on their yogurt. They are promoting a trip to the Galapogos Islands where you can "See Darwin's Theory of Evolution Come Alive". The card you received and the e-mail I received both made me go, "Hmmmm....What exactly does this mean?" But "World Peace through World Commerce" takes the cake. What a great waste of money that was.
Merry Christmas! I'm making more of your toffee today!
Jennifer :)

Hi Eleanor - I am new to the "blogger" scene but have been enjoying your space for some time now. I am a Canadian friend who knows how wise you really are! I truly did appreciate your comments on the biblical principles of wisdom made on December 7th. If only I would apply these principles to my own life. I wanted to encourage you to keep writing such practical and interesting pieces. Maybe I can use some of your thoughts in my future sermons! Have a very happy Christmas and prosperous new year. All the best to your fine husband and fabulous children. Your friend, EMU.

disclaimer, btw, just because I wrote about wisdom doesn't mean I think I have it!
