Mysterious Illnes

Posted in Daily Life

It has occurred to me lately that not everyone can do what I do... Taking care of a house doesn't seem that hard to me. It used to seem to me that anyone could do it. Just a little organization and patience, right?

But I have recently changed my mind. It has recently occurred to me that my husband, though he is very good at other things, could not take care of my house as well as me. Also, my brother and my father could not take care of my house as well as me. My children, also, could not take care of my house either.

What is it about these people that make them so unqualified to manage my home? These individuals seem to have a mysterious malady that makes them unable to see a mess right in front of them. In fact, sometimes these mysterious blinders are so powerful that these individuals can step right over a mess and still not see it. Oh my. Poor people.

Now, let me qualify please. I love my family dearly, and wouldn't change them. The men in my life are all very, very smart, and funny, and I enjoy spending time with them all (yes even my brother.) And my kids are cute and funny, and really cool kids.

But, let’s face it, these people are messy! I have watched my children pick up a toy, to carry it three feet and drop it, and not even break stride in their walk. Ach! What's a mother to do?

Wish I knew the answer. It's somehow ingrained... Though as for the men, they just can't focus on more than one thing. It's how they're wired!
