Mothers Day

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.  Proverbs 31:28

I had a lovely Mother's Day.  Mike bought Ellie Mae for me, but of course you already knew that.  Chance bought me the book Wives and Daughters, and everyone gave me a card.  The kids gave me a card that had seven little bears on it and each of them wrote their name on a bear.  It was very cute, but it seemed to highlight the absence of Kirstyn.  I miss her so.

They also woke me up with a tray carrying my breakfast, served in bed.  Eggs, toast, strawberries, raspberries and orange juice.  Oh yeah, speaking of strawberries, on Saturday night Mike made me big ol chocolate covered strawberries.  It was kind of a Mothers Day week!  MMM

I didn't have to do anything but get myself ready for church.  I didn't have to get kids ready, make breakfast, make food for church.  Just eat in my bed and get myself ready while listening to a wonderful teaching cd.  It was a very restful morning.  And just before we left Mike pinned a corsage to my blouse.  I felt very doted upon.

I am so grateful that my husband places such value on the calling of wife and mother.  He is a constant encouragement to me, and is training our children to see the value of the role I play in the family.  I pray that this helps them to highly esteem Gods plan for women, and that my girls will embrace it and my boys will honor it.

that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.  Titus 2:4

Well, yay! I'm glad you had a great Mother's Day! Wish I could have been there! "Ours" was memorable, as well, in more ways than one. We decided to cook breakfast in bed for my mom secretly (a usual routine, which usually, accompanied by the banging pots and pans in the kitchen, is not all that secret after all) and I, the crazy person that I am, managed to cause a catastrophe. I sprayed cooking spray while the stovetop was on, and it flared WAY up (a foot and a half to two feet), singeing the ends of my hair, etc. But she stayed asleep the whole time. What a gal! :D We went to church, had a great time, sang several "Mother's Day" songs, and then left before lunch, where we went back home and got ready for our party for MD at our house. We had lots of family, including an uncle who doesn't come for much. It was a great time of lots of laughs. I guess you've heard that our oven doesn't work (we bought a new one recently and its regulator was placed improperly) so we had sub sandwiches, a refreshing change of pace. We didn't do many presents--we're putting on a roof on my grandparents' house, and we gave Gma St. T a cell phone (we paid the activation and taxes, etc). Now all five of us (my grandparents, me, Jay, mom, and Gma St. T) are on a family plan. It's working out GREAT! I'm really glad for it. We have free weekends all of the time, so.... *hint, hint* I think you have the numbers.
I've been busy with Daniel's episode, which is not entirely over, but I'll email you about that. :D
Glad you had a great Mother's Day!
Love,
Ella

P.S. I'm anxious to hear what you thought of my Grace/Beth article yesterday!!!!!!

Thanks!
