Charm is Deceitful and Beauty is Vain

"You can dress Issy up but you can't take her out with a big gold ring in her pink pig snout, she will jump in the middle of a big mud puddle cuz Isabelle, is a pig."

Those are words to one of the kids' favorite songs on a Judy Rogers cd.  It is a song about the biblical reality that true beauty is a reflection of what is in the heart.  We are truly beautiful when He is shining through us. 

But we are all constantly fed the lie that we must be physically perfect.  Women are starving themselves trying to achieve something that doesn't exist. 

The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty attempts to shed light on the myth of perfection, but it misses the mark.  Carolyn Mahaney hits it right in the nose.

I have known that they touch up photos but what a WOW to see it right before your very eyes! Great blog entry.
