About Me

A mild-mannered homeschool mom who is faster than a speeding flash card, more powerful than a mega-workbook, and able to leap tall unabridged bilingual dictionaries in a single bound! Look! Up in cyberspace! It's a flamenco skirt! It's an irregular verb chart! No, it's just me, and it's time to learn Spanish.

Tiene sed

Posted in phrase of the week

Phrase of the Week:

Tiene sed.
(tee-EHN-ay sehd)

He is thirsty.

Note: the pronoun "he" is implied in this phrase.  The form of the verb has "he" or "she" built in.  Since "el pajaro" is a masculine word, any references to the noun would be made in masculine, unless you knew that this specific bird was female.  Male or female may be specified or emphasized by adding the pronoun "el" for "he" or "ella" for "she".
