What Lord of the Rings character you?
You are Aragorn. You have strong convictions and you stick to them. Although you are more of a recluse, you are extremely loyal to the few friends that you have. You're a Redwall Mouse. You are a peaceful creature who lives in harmony with the other animals at Redwall. Illegal Immigrants: My Pet Peeve

I live in a town where there are many, many illegal immigrants, and most of them don't speak English. This really bothers me, we have signs in English (of course) and then under them we have the same sign in Spanish.  The librarians have to be able to speak fluent Spanish, and a teacher at the local elementary school was fired becuse she didn't speak Spanish. This is America, and in America we speak English. I've got nothing against Mexican people, and I understand that it is hard to become a legal citizen, but the least they could do is learn English. My great, great grandparents came to America from Crovatia almost a hundred years ago, and they managed to learn English; there were no signs for them in Crovatian, they had to learn our langage.

A couple towns away from my town, there was a man who owned an appartment building, that a lot of illegal immigrants lived in, well he wanted to fix the appartment up, to get higher paying people to move in. So he started a rumor that the government was coming to check peoples green cards, well a Mexican restaurant nearby had to close for the day beacause no one came to work, they were afraid of being caught woorking without a green card. This is how bad it is in the area around my town. I'll say it again, I've got nothing against Mexican people, and I do understand that it is hard to become a legal citizen, but the least they could do is learn English.

17 November 2007 - THANK YOU!

Posted by MaidenCapitolaBallot
Greetings!
I did not have a chance to read your new post but paln to tomorrow. I wanted to thank you for the advice! I have known my stories seem to go too fast, but I can not seem to draw them out more, without making them boring! Sigh. Such a struggle. Do you have any suggestions? What would you suggest for the one now? I can use any help you can offer as I am stumped!
I read these great books once, I could not put them down! And the exciting parts where near the end, but it was written in a way to build suspence and still draw the story out to just the right lenght, I so want to write like that!
Well I must go for now, but first how have you been? Busy with Thanksgiving coming?
Adieu for now, Maiden Captiola Lisette

As you may have already noticed, we both possess a deep love for all things Elven, and are convinced that we're really elves in disguise. (Hey, girls can dream, can't they?) We're Christians, and do our best to honor God in all things.

Quote of the Week

Thank goodness I was never sent to school, it would have rubbed off some of the originality.
