I think I'm in love...
...with a book. Impossible? I beg to differ. Crazy? Perhaps. Whatever the case may be, here is a quick snapshot portraying my new object of affection:
Isn't it beautiful?? I've been after it for quite some time, and was finally able to purchase it this afternoon at Border's, with the help of my grandparents' Christmas money. The illustrations are simply breathtaking, and occur often within each chapter. Now that I own my own copy, I'm hoping I'll finally be able to read it through to the end (as shocking as it sounds, I've never actually finished The Silmarillion, though I started it three times simultaneously. Apparently, it's a bit heavy even for me.)
Once again, I apologize for my absence. My computer privileges were suspended during the last few days as a result of my own rash actions, and I've only just regained the use of my laptop. There's tons of stuff I need to catch up on, so don't be surprised if I die of stress before Christmas arrives.
First on my list of things to do is a tag by Nimrodel:
1. What time frame does your story take place in? The Years of the Trees in the First Age 2. Who is the main character in your story? A Telerin elf-woman called Lindëyen (Quenya translation is Song Daughter). Her husband, Hendiraumo, falls in the Kinslaying, leaving her alone with their unborn child. 3. What three words best describe your main character? Peaceful, loyal, affectionate 4. When was the last time you had inspiration for your story? A few days ago, believe it or not. 5. What caused your inspiration? Unfinished Tales by J.R.R. Tolkien; I was reading the chapter entitled Narn I Hîn Húrin. Such a sad tale... 6. What music do you usually listen to when writing your story? Usually the Lord of the Rings soundtracks, but sometimes I'll listen to classical music. I find it hard to concentrate on the words I'm writing while listening to a song with lyrics. 7. What book/movie most influenced your story? The Silmarillion (big surprise there, eh?) 8. How long have you been working on your story? A couple of weeks. 9. Do you think better while laying down or sitting up? I've never really thought about that before; laying down, I suppose. 10. Which place inspires you most? Oh dear, how in Arda am I supposed to answer that?? I'll say the woods of Connecticut, though I may change my mind later on... 11. Who do you tag? I was going to tag Altariel, but since she has already been tagged by Nimrodel, then I'll just tag whoever is reading this and is writing a story.
I totally agree with you on that post! I love The Silmarilion! It is the best book I have ever read, and I have olnyread like, one-fourth of it! Well, seeya! (Probably in two muinets or something like that!)
That looks like an amazing book you got (and to think, I've only seen the cover and a few of the illustrations inside, which are amazing O_O). I've got to admit, it's probably too hard of a book for me to finish---especially since you haven't yet, and I've only finished a book before you once or twice, I think---but I'd love for you to tell me some of the stories in it some time or other. I'm glad you finally got your laptop back...good work on the blog, as usual. ^_^
I've read the Silmarillion and must admit it was rather boring... But at the time I was 12 or 13 and I don't think I understood most of it, though it was in Norwegian x)
I've flipped throught the pages of that book you're holding, and the illustrations are simply breath-taking. I wish I could draw and paint like that :/
You have to be a very die heart lotr fan to really enjoy the Silmirilian, I think. I also think I spelled that wrong, but I'm to lazy to fix it at the moment.

I actually think I'm going to reread it (as soon as I'm finished with the big pile of book that awaits me). Thanks Tinuviel. You made me want to reread it xD
AH, me too! I love that book. I got it last year for Christmas. Isn't it just wonderful? It took me awhile to read it, and I took notes along the way. It simply is a treasure.
I hope you're able to get your own domain soon. So you have a program then? What do you use? I am all interested in graphics/techie stuff so let's talk.
Yes, I am sorry I haven't been around... just busy. ; )
Oh photoshop elements? Do you know what the difference is between that and the regular photoshop? I love doing any type of graphics stuff, but I don't have a program and a friend was going to send us their photoshop (because you can legally share it one time) but they couldn't find it. *sobs*
Thank you for the comment. I generally update once a week, so if you're looking for new posts, you'll usually see them around Saturday or Sunday.
As I continue to write and edit already written parts of my story, I will be looking back on Nibor's rescue and probably lengthening it. Thank you for pointing that out, I'll give that part a little extra attention.

We go by Nimrodel and Tinuviel, two bosom friends writing a blog together. As you may have already noticed, we both possess a deep love for all things
Elven, and are convinced that we're really elves in disguise. (Hey, girls can dream, can't they?) We're Christians, and do our best to honor God in all
things.
