What kind of Elf are you?
Serene, wise and pride, High Elves are the cream of their kind, with answers to many questions and a will to do good. You are tolerant of all ~ just not of evil.
Take this quiz!

Which Jane Austen Heroine are you?
You are Marianne Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are impulsive, romantic, impatient, and perhaps a little to vocal in your honesty. You enjoy romantic poetry and novels, and play the pianoforte beautifully. To boot, your singing voice is captivating. You feel deeply, and love passionately. Take the quiz!

What Lord of the Rings character you?
You are Aragorn. You have strong convictions and you stick to them. Although you are more of a recluse, you are extremely loyal to the few friends that you have. You are very serious about things, but you like having fun. Fame and fortune mean little to you, and you aren't concerned with being popular. Good for you!
Take this quiz!

What Redwall creature are you?
You're a Redwall Mouse. You are a peaceful creature who lives in harmony with the other animals at Redwall. As a rule, you do not fight nor do you harm another creature, until your home is threatened. Then you will stand up and fight to the death to protect your way of life. You have strong morals and you are looked up to by the rest of Mossflower, for no one save vermin would harm a Redwaller. Take this quiz!

Tinuviel's Quizzes

What kind of Elf are you?
You are a star-gazing Wood Elf; adventurous and fun-loving, yet with a serious side. You fight for what you believe is right and would never hurt anyone just for the fun of it. You are fond of nature and like to do things your own way.
Take this quiz!

What kind of web designer are you?
You are a Trendy Homepage Designer. You inhabit a world of personal domains with New Age names, blogs, collectives and celebrity layouts. You're one of the kindest and most generous people on the Net, always willing to help out your online friends, but it wouldn't kill you to pick up a HTML manual now and again and find out that some of your most cherished effects only work in MSIE.
Take this quiz!

What kind of a writer should you be?
You should be a poet. You craft words well, in creative and unexpected ways, and you have a great talent for evoking beautiful imagery, or describing the most intense heartbreak ever. You're already naturally a poet, even if you've never written a poem.
Take this quiz!

Which type of blogger are you?
You scored as the Writer. You have linguistic intelligence, no doubt. Using flowery or catchy language, you write about you experience almost as if it is a fictional story. You also enjoy reading, and writing your own reviews on them. Some writers even create their own stories for real in their blog. Someday you may become a great author, who knows! But of course, you will practice with your blog first. Take this quiz!

Contest Entry

I do believe this is a first --- three blog entries in one day!

Here is a very short story for Squidnie's short story contest.  It is not part of my fanfiction, though it presumably takes place in Middle-Earth.  With that said, enjoy and do comment.  :)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I am standing on the edge of a precipice, my features pointed towards the sea. My face is streaked with rain — or is it tears? I cannot tell. The wind is like a host of daggers pricking my skin, but I cannot — will not — be driven back. No!

It is dark — darker even than the pits of Utumno. The sky is an impenetrable jet, save only for the occasional strike of cobalt lightning. Waves endeavor to engulf the cliff, tearing at its base like some wrathful monster of the deep. As I stare into the churning brine, Fear grips my very soul with its icy claws, and I quail in the face of the storm.

Suddenly I find myself falling...down, down into the cold embrace of the unforgiving sea. A piercing scream rents the storm-black sky; seconds before hitting the water, I realize it is my own.

My whole world now consists of water — swirling, freezing water. My dress has been transformed into an anchor for which to pull me down to the bottommost depths of the sea, and my vision hastily recedes; so dark are the waves which threaten to take my life. Vainly I struggle, but my feeble attempts are useless against the power of Ossë; air begins to stream from my cold lips in bubbles. With the last of my waning strength, I desperately stretch my fingertips towards the surface, but even that is indistinguishable. My heart grows numb within my breast, and I wonder if this is what it is like to have one’s life snatched away when it is just within one’s grasp...

Ta-da!  Exactly four paragraphs.  I felt like writing something a bit dramatic, and if you ask me, drowning most definately falls under that category!  I may turn this into something bigger later on; a fanfiction, perhaps...

Cheers,

~Tinuviel

Squidnie speaking, LOVE those paragraphs. I probably read them at least twice over again, running each word though my mind. Very tragic, yes, but amazing writing style...

Wow, this is great! Very emotion packed, angsty and gripping, it just pulls you right in! At first I wondered if it could be about Maglor, but I really can't imagine the poor guy wearing a dress, however messed up he was!

I would love so much to read your fanfiction, may I please?

And thanks heaps for giving me a prod, I've actually been away on holiday for a couple of weeks with most of my extended family, so I haven't had a chance to write at all! However, I do have heaps to write about, so I'll post something pretty soon.

Oh, and I like your new layout a lot, it's beautiful! My only qualm is that the white on green is a little hard to read. It's lovely, though, just when I thought you had the ultimate in beautiful layouts, too!

About the Authors

We go by Nimrodel and Tinuviel, two bosom friends writing a blog together. As you may have already noticed, we both possess a deep love for all things Elven, and are convinced that we're really elves in disguise. (Hey, girls can dream, can't they?) We're Christians, and do our best to honor God in all things.

Quote of the Week

Thank goodness I was never sent to school, it would have rubbed off some of the originality.
