An Overdue Update

"Don't be too optimistic---the light at the end of the tunnel might be another train."
-Anonymous

Like the quote?  I saw it on a plaque at my piano teacher's house and thought I'd post it on here.  In case you didn't know, my views on life are often quite negative (thus earning me the nickname 'Eeyore' from my mom), so the above quote is just an example of something I might say.  But on the actual update...

On February 15, I finally bought a domain for my website!  For all you non-geeks who aren't familiar with the term, a domain is a private, customized web address, or URL.  (For instance, runaway-muse.net instead of runaway-muse.bravehost.com.)  But now I'm rambling.  *sheepish grin*  Anyway, it'd mean a lot to me if you checked out my newly-revamped site and signed the guestbook.  One can never have too much feedback, you know!

Let's see...what other news can I offer you?  Two Fridays ago (I think), Eni and I went to see the play
Annie with Nimrodel and TeaPartyGirl's family, since they had two extra tickets and kindly offered to bring us along.  It was quite a refreshing experience for Eni and I, who had only seen the movie version of Annie.  The actress who played the title character was a slight disappointment, though---when she cried, you could totally tell it was fake.  And of course there were the horrendous wigs she wore.  But aside from that, the cast did a splendid job.  If you've never been to a real, live play, then you're missing out.  It's magical, really...

On a different subject entirely, do any of you remember the entry I wrote awhile ago telling about the short story contest my local library was holding?  Well, it turns out that we were misinformed---upon checking the library website, we discovered that the contest is for poetry, not short stories.  So now my mom is forcing me to write an entirely new poem.  (Why I'm not allowed to use one of my old poems, I don't know.)  As if that's not difficult enough, the poem I'm writing has to rhyme!  I have until March 15 to submit the poem, but I have a rather annoying habit of finishing things at the last moment, and so far it looks like that will be the case regarding my poem.  I've got 26 lines already, but plan to wrap it up with at least twice that number.  For those of you who are interested, the poem is based on the Silmarillion...except I've changed some names, since using Tolkien's would probably be infringing copyrights.  Inspiration is getting really difficult for me to come by, so some prayer would be appreciated.  :)  Once I finish the poem I will be sure to post it on here for you guys to read.

Driver's ed is going more smoothly than I had anticipated, to my utter relief.  We've got classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays, so naturally I've been quite busy.  The last class is on March 3, and I have until then to get my learner's permit and complete three hours of driving with an instructor.  Yikes!  I've got a rather silly question for those of you who have gotten their learner's permit at one time or another: how difficult do the tests tend to be?  I know I won't have to complete a driving test in order to just get my permit, but isn't there some kind of written test?  I have no idea how much knowledge I need to have stored up in order to pass, and am therefore hesitant to take the test.  (I can apply for my permit whenever I want, but it needs to be soon or else it'll be too late to properly finish driver's ed.)  Uhm, help?

Wow...I had no idea how many different subjects I'd cover in this entry!  Hopefully it will make up for my absence.  *chuckles*  I know I haven't been commenting on many peoples' blogs lately, and for that I apologize.  Rest assured, if you are on our friend list, then I will do my best to get to your blog eventually.  :)

Until our paths next cross,
-Tinuviel

Hehe, I was very nervous when I took my written test. You can (at least where I live) pick up a driving booklet somewhere. It has pretty much everything you need to know. I read through it two or three times and easily passed my test. I think I got one or two wrong. I ended up having to take it again after that because my learner's permit expired. I got three wrong that time but still passed. I found the written test to be much easier than I thought it would be, which was a good thing because I was thinking it would be some ten page thing. xDD You can imagine my relief when it was just a one-sided piece of paper!

I like that saying too. xD Sounds like something I would say really, I am definitely NOT the most optimistic person.

I hate to put you at ease only to have you find out it is not as easy as I made it out to be. But, when I took the test I was terrifed, but it was not as bad as I thought. This is Wyo though, and the test was an old one I took so it was easier. All I can say I guess, is study the book and no not worry, it is easier then school test and if you are taking divers ed you are off to a good start, better then I was, and you should pass with ease.
You are in my prayers!

I will be praying for that poem of yours to turn out, and look forward to reading it! (Ah, nothing quite like poetry, and if it's about lotr and Middle Earth, then it's doubly wonderful! ) :)

I was wondering: would you like to be friends? I love Elvish stuff and really like reading your blog. I've enjoyed reading your comments on my blog and would like to link to you, if that is all right :)

Ooo! A new website to look at! Let me go check it out... :)

Thanks for your comment! Ah, I totally agree...divorce is so foreign to me, it's weird to hear the kids talk about it like that, like it's something that happens every day and is to be expected :-(.
Your website looks lovely--the template is gorgeous! You're quite the web-designer :-D. Keep up the good work!

Quote of the Week

Thank goodness I was never sent to school, it would have rubbed off some of the originality.
