A Hasty Entry

Tinuviel here!  I'm afraid this will be a rather short update, as I have schoolwork to catch up on.  But still, a tiny entry is better than none at all, right?

I am happy to say that spring has begun to wrap our neighborhood in its proverbial embrace.  The dratted snow is finally gone, replaced with new, green shoots popping up wherever there's room to grow.  Nimrodel and I have spent much of our waking time wandering through the nearby woods and guessing what kinds of flowers the tiny sprouts will turn out to be.  We've also been mapping out our "domain" and naming the places that strike our fancy.  Nimrodel has taken lots of pictures, which I understand she will post on her photo blog once she figures out how.  (She's having problems with her laptop/browser.)

Unfortunately, springtime means mud.  LOTS of mud.  It's already rained twice during the past week, and I've had to wash my shoes after almost every excursion into the woods.  Nimrodel doesn't mind as much as I, but I suspect even she will be glad once the weather gets warmer and dries the earth.  The hills are especially treacherous; the only way to climb down them is to aim for the nearest tree and hope it's strong enough to bear your weight when you crash against it!

News flash: my sister has finally finished her web portfolio!  Last night we decided we had procrastinated long enough, and just this morning finished uploading every single drawing of hers.  (Well, almost.  There are a few she is too embarassed to post, although even they are considerably better than anything I could draw.)  To all who are reading this, my sister would really appreciate it if you visited and perhaps signed the guestbook.  Like myself, she thrives on feedback.  So what are you waiting for?  Click here.

Alas; that concludes this entry.  I'm still trying to post comments on everyones' blogs, though my efforts have been rather pathetic, I admit.  Please bear with me!  Also, expect a new template for this blog in the future.  It's not like I don't care for this one, but the text is kinda hard to read, and all the green is starting to get to me.

Until our paths cross again,
Tinuviel

Eni certainly is talented! Her drawings are beautiful!

Feel free to use all the random quotes you like! It's something I love to do myself and indulge in a lot, so I'm not beyond enjoying a well placed little reference like that one immensely. The great thing is, it actually is! It shines like the Silmaril of Earendil and is twice as beautiful... ;)

Ah, yes, I too have always coveted Macs. Well, actually, that isn't strictly true; I took one peek at the price tags and decided I was quite content with my old Compaq! He was getting extremely geriatric though, both his hinges are gone, one snapped entirely, he had snapped and cracked about the hinges, and he could no longer even run paint properly. He's about eight yeas old and was second hand when we got him, and in the few years I've owned him I've used him almost constantly, night and day. He was about due for retirement.

But moving on...

That's right, keep dreaming about New Zealand! All you need is a plane ticket, as soon as you have it we'll arrange the rest. We could pick you up from the airport and take you on the grand tour. You can stay with us and visit all the LotR location spots and all the beautiful scenery we have to offer, and visit our cute little cities and beautiful big mountains. That's free accommodation and free touring and everything, and my parents are just as eager to see you do it as I am. All you need is a plane ticket!

We'd be overjoyed to host your whole family, too, if you could convince them to accompany you. We have a humungous house that well equipped for guests, and we love having them. We've had twenty people stay on short notice before, so your family would be no sweat. We even have a river to throw Mister Cool in if he gets too... scary! Oh, please, please come, Tinuviel! It would be so much fun!

Yes, I would still love you to do me a template! I have just taken a long time to decide what I'd like. Is my boring navy one such an eyesore that you're that eager to get rid of it? ;) Actually, I have given a lot of thought to it. There's a beautiful Ted Nansmith painting I want for the header, so I'll pm you the details as soon as I can dig it up. Thank you again, I'm really looking forward to it!

Ah, yes I'm driving a manual. I'm afraid I do still stall quite a lot, especially on hillstarts. This can become particularly disturbing when you put your foot on the clutch when you really want the brake, and start rolling backward rather fast. Ah, good times... seriously, American highways are easy, even when driving an old, rickety ten metre long RV. Trust me, you'll be fine. :)

Heh, I know how you feel about having a long list of people to reply to. It can quickly become daunting! It's fun once you start, though.

I'll get back to you on the template pretty soon.

About the Authors

We go by Nimrodel and Tinuviel, two bosom friends writing a blog together. As you may have already noticed, we both possess a deep love for all things Elven, and are convinced that we're really elves in disguise. (Hey, girls can dream, can't they?) We're Christians, and do our best to honor God in all things.

Quote of the Week

Thank goodness I was never sent to school, it would have rubbed off some of the originality.
~ Beatrix Potter (1866-1943)
