What Lord of the Rings character you?

My Last Will and Testament

Alas, this may be the last blog entry my faithful readers shall receive from me.  For it is my doom that in approximately half an hour, I shall be forced to give a recitation in front of a large audience.  Knowing me, I shall have died of stage fright in that time.  Therefore, I, Tinuviel, being in my sane mind, do give and bequeath all my earthly (and Middle-earthly) property, namely:

To my father, I give all my written works: poetry, stories, and the like.  Perhaps someday you'll publish them posthumously, and everyone shall know me as the girl who never lived to see her dream come true... *tragic sigh*

My clothes, jewelry, and the like I bequeath to my dear mother.  Whatever isn't to her taste she can donate to her precious Goodwill under my name.  Also, I give her my Starbucks mug with the flowers on it.

To my sister, Enilarwyn, I give my laptop; may it serve you as well as it has served me.   (Note the sarcasm.)  Also, my English teapot, so whenever you pour tea you can think of your dearly departed sister.

To Mister Cool, I give my Children of Hurin calender, my limited edition copy of the Silmarillion, and my Lord of the Rings: Weapons and Warfare book.  Use them wisely, gwador nin.

To Nimrodel, I bequeath my beloved rats.  May you watch over them like your own children.  (If your mother can stand the sight of them, poor things.)  I know they'll be safe with you; just don't let Abby near them.

To Bonnie, my sister and pupil, I give all my books (excluding the previously mentioned Silmarillion and Weapons and Warfare).  May you treasure them as much as I have.

To Elizabeth, precious baby sister---I give my china teacups.  Enjoy them!

To this will and testament I set my hand and seal on this 19th day of April 2008.  Amen.

Signed,

Tinuviel

Witnesses: Harvey the rat, Jasper the rat, and Christoff the rat, Esquires

I get stage fright all the time! But by the time you read this, it'll all be over. :-D And I would die too, if I had to do that...for I do have a lot of Flora in me (you know, she's not at all the same as Lydia) but how did it go, now that's it's over?

with sympathy,
~Queen Flora

Poor girl. You'll survive. Although, for a CoH calendar and Limited edition Silm, MisterCool might murder you in your sleep even if you do survive the public speaking. ;) What are you doing?

Actually I survived without hearing from you quite well, thank you. So sorry for the crushing blow to your ego. ;) I have been known to take longer than that to reply though, so I didn't mind. Being hectically busy helped to take my mind off my longing for your company, also.

Your comment has been beckoning to me for days now, and now I have finally found time to bask in it's deliciousness and meander out my reply.

Your thoughts are fantastic; very wise and very true. And very helpful. You bring up points that I hadn't thought of, and clarify thing I found hazy, and it's altogether wonderful and makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

You know, I've had many such discussions with my Dad about babies condemned to Hell, and they also, more often than not, bring me to tears. We are incredibly alike, are we not? ;)

My Dad has offered one thought that has brought me comfort. Our bodies are destroyed at our death; perhaps Hell is a place of spiritual torment. The 'weeping and gnashing of teeth' spoken of may be largly a result of regret. Babies and small children won't feel that regret over what could have been or what they might have done, as an adult would. They will still be separated from God, but perhaps, because of this, it might not be so bad for them.

I don't know. It's a difficult thing. As you said, we have to trust God that he's doing whatever he does for our good.

Now now, dear. Never, ever give yourself the idea that I'm a fantastic Christian just because I talk about this sort of stuff. Seriously, if only you knew...

For the last two years I've been struggling with Christianity. I don't know if you've ever tried to pray and just felt like it wasn't going anywhere, but that's how I felt. Like God wasn't actually listening, like I was just holding a one sided conversation with an object that never responded anyway. I'm not saying that God's an object, of course, he just felt incredibly distant. The bible was not much better. It just didn't seem to mean anything to me. I mean, there are great stories and principles, but it just seemed so... old and boring. And I began to skip reading it or praying, because it was simply becoming a chore and I didn't feel anything. This feeling lasted for the last couple of years, and in fact, I still feel it rather too often now.

Believe it or not, it was actually by really doubting God that he got me back on track. I began to wonder if God really cared about us and loved us as he said, or if he was simply letting us live for our amusement. Maybe he enjoyed seeing us fight and suffer and die for him, but really didn't care about us or want our good. Maybe he only says he's good and perfect, but is actually simply incredibly selfish. After all, he's God, he can tell us what he wants, can't he? Sounds pretty heretical, doesn't it? ;)

Yet it was only after struggling with these sort of thoughts that I actually really came to appreciate him. For some reason, after wondering all this I really realised how much he's done for us, how much he really, really loves us. And that blew me away so far that I just wanted to talk to him and discover more of him, even if he doesn't seem to phsically respond or leave me long comments. ;)

I've never heard him speak to me or had any such miraculous experience, and I think it can often be harder for us 'good Christian teens' who have never gone off the rails to keep a real, alive relationship with God. Sometimes it just seems to fade out and die away. But, honestly, it's something that every Christian struggles with - not that I've personally experienced every Christian's struggles of course, but it's certainly a big thing for us. I don't know why God doesn't appear to us in clouds of fire or incredible visions, but he's got a unique path for each of us.

Seriously, me =/= spiritual. We're all lazy, wicked, rebelious young beings, and absolutly not as saintly as we sound. =D

Anyway. I shall leave you to die in peace. ;) Good luck with your public speaking! *sends up a prayer*

Thank you again for the fantastic comment. I love hearing your thoughts.

Greetings
I know it isn't much, but I have hope! I know of no one who has died of stage fright, but I have come close. In fact I have a piano recital and will probably die of fright over that. But if I can make it then you certainly can! :)
Anyways I completely know how you feel! But how did it go?

Aiya!
Vande Carna! That was so cute!! So what do you recite? ;)
To answer your question, I've only been taking piano for maybe about 4 to 5 years, but I absolutely ADORE it. I'm the sort of girl who likes music, dancing, and singing. sometimes I almost think I could be an elf or live in Jane Austen's time since I'm so different than my friends who like sports and all....
So you are the Lothlorien elf? Or are you the rivendell elf? Your elven friend told me but I can't remember.. Ani apsene!
Thankyou so much for giving me that link! Yes, sometimes I ramble too, but I ramble in BOTH languages! ;)

Phew...it's all over now, right? Congrats on being one of the final contestants (and not dying). ;) I knew you'd make it through, and am very glad you did --- even if it would have been nice to get your laptop. ^_^

Quote of the Week

Thank goodness I was never sent to school, it would have rubbed off some of the originality.
