Twas the night before fair...4-H in the house
Twas the night before fair and all through the house
Not a creature was sleeping, except for a mouse.
The projects were stacked by the door with care,
In hopes that in the morning, they still would be there.
The children were stressing with last minute dreads
While visions of victory danced in their heads.
With me at my computer and Dad's in his lap
No one was settle for any kind of nap.
When out in the kitchen there arose such a clatter,
I sprung from my chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the table I flew in a flash,
Was that someone ceramic project, a thundering crash?
The lamp all ablaze was able to show,
Nothing was damage, all systems were go!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear.
My husband bidding, "Time for bed, my dear!"
My tired feet became lively and quick,
I wondered that minute, Was this some kind of trick?
More rapid than morning, understanding came,
He whistled and grinned and called me by name.
Now darling, come dear, sweetie, you vixen,
Come on, don't be stupid, wander out from the kitchen.
To the top of the stairs, to the end of the hall,
To Bed, To bed, to bed to you all!
too long a poem to parady further.
