• 1.30.2008 - Tagged Again ;) THREE Times!

Amy, over at homeschoolhighlites, tagged me with this book tag, and so did Crossview, and so did Nikowa. So, I’m going to do what Crossview did with another tag, and do it thrice. Here are the rules.

  1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages.)
  2. Open the book to page 123.
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the next three sentences.
  5. Tag five people.
Anyone Can Homeschool: How to Find What Works for You, by Terry Dorian, Ph.D. and Zan Peters Tyler

(This happens to be a quote from the Bible to bring home the point of the preceding paragraphs, technically, it’s only two complete sentences, but that was the end of the chapter.)

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you. (Titus 2:11-15)

Okay, for the second tag:

Marine Biology, Second Edition, by John Reseck, Jr.

Ooops, sorry, only three sentences on page 123.

Pinnacle Studio/Studio Plus version 10 User Guide

A colored bar appears in the Timescale above the clip while background rendering is in progress.

Audio transitions

Video clips in the Movie Window, normally have synchronous audio. In the absence of a transition, both video and audio cut from one clip to the next.

Hey, that was enlightening, wasn’t it? I was really hoping the nearest book would be one of my Dummies books . . .

Okay, for the third one:

Nonfiction Craft Lessons: Teaching Information Writing K-8, by Joann Portalupi & Ralph Fletcher

This is from the Appendix, which is a sample of informational writing.

There are many pieces to help you. Each army has a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, and eight pawns. Learning how to move these pieces can be challenging.

Can you tell what the student was writing about? Okay, that’s it for my tags. Now I need to tag 5 people. Mind you, I should be tagging 15, but I’m going to stick with the 5. And the people I tag only need to do it once, not three times (from my tag anyway).

And, if any of them aren’t into tags, that’s fine with me. (Except, of course, Aric and Arianna). And if you've already done this tag (I didn't check), you don't have to do it either.

Thanks for your visit - and the awful pun!! We were really lucky that the leak was confined to just one part of the ceiling and was caused by just a few loose roof tiles! It all depends on which way the wind is blowing as to whether the rain comes in or not!

I'll keep you up-to-date with medical matters after Friday's visit to the oncologist. Thanks for your prayers - they mean such a lot!

About the Entmoot

Our family loves the books of J.R.R. Tolkien, especially "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy. An Entmoot is a gathering of Ents (Shepherds of the Trees) to discuss issues. We thought this was a wonderful word picture to describe our zany family.
