Mar. 28, 2008 - I'm back - sorta
Okay, so I have not been at my friend's house all this time. I have been there for a little over 3 weeks of the time I have been inactive. I have not had a whole lot to write about, plus I got a xanga. I am not going to totally stop using my hsb account, but I am going to use Xanga as my main blog.
Sorry it took me so long to post, but I have limited computer access.

Jan. 21, 2008 - I'll be away
I am going to be gone for the next couple of weeks, so forgive me if I do not post for awhile.
Anyways, 4 of my cousins came and stayed with me last week from Thursday night to Sunday. I had a lot of fun. Now, I am staying with my friends for awhile. I've brought my schoolwork with me because they homeschool too. (Ahh, the freedom of homeschooling!)

Jan. 9, 2008 - Spotted Saddle Horses ~ Breed Information
Breed Influences
The Spotted Saddle Horse can trace its roots back to Icelandic Ponies that escaped from Viking ships that crashed on our shorelines. These equines were usually naturally gaited.
These gaited horses were selectively bred and result was a beautiful, smooth-gaited horse that came to be known as the Spotted Saddle Horse. Mustangs, Standardbreds, Paso Finos, Missouri Fox Trotters, Peruvian Pasos, the Racking Horse, and the Tennessee Walking Horse were all used in developing the breed, the TW being a more recent influence.
Breed Characteristics
The SSH closely resembles a heavier Tennesee Walker. Spotted Saddle Horses are known for their great temperament, and their gorgeous colors. The have a four-beat gait that is very comfortable to ride. They are described as being sure-footed, trustworthy horses that are great for families.
Breed Standards
Spotted Saddle Horses are required to have a white spot above the hocks, not including the face. The darker color of their coat may be any equine color. The SSH must also perform a not-trotting gait. The "saddle gaits" of the SSH may include the stepping pace, fox trot, single foot, flat walk, running walk, pace and the rack.

Jan. 2, 2008 - This is True, Take It To Heart
Why do we ((sleep)) in [[church]],
But stay ((awake)) for a [[two hour movie]]?
Why is it so ((hard)) to talk about [[God]],
But so ((easy)) to [[gossip]]?
Why are we so ((bored)) when we look at a [[Christian magazine]],
But find it ((easy)) to read [[US weekly]]?
Why is it so easy to ((ignore)) a [[Godly]] facebook wall post,
Yet we ((repost)) the [[nasty]] ones?
Why are ((churches)) getting [[smaller]],
But ((bars and clubs)) are [[growing]]?
Think about it, are you going to repost this?
Would you have opened this is if it said "Read this in God's name"?
80% of you won't repost this.
Jesus Christ said:
"If you deny Me in front of your friends, I will deny you in front of My Father."
This has been going around HSB like a virus, but not everyone who has read it has reposted it. Will you?

Jan. 1, 2008 - First Post of the New Year
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
This is my first post of 2008!
My New Year's resolution is to read the entire Bible. I haven't decided if I want to read it cover to cover, or if I want one of those read the Bible in a year things.
I think I am opting for the latter, but then I have to actually find one...

Dec. 27, 2007 - Christmas
I wasn't able to post on Christmas, but I hope everybody had a wonderful HolyDay.
My mom came over to my dad's house Christmas morning, and we opened presents and she spent the day with us. It was cool being able to celebrate at the same time with my entire immediate family. I think I was 11 the last time I got to spend all of Christmas Day with both parents. Anyone who is still is able to do that, consider yourself very blessed.
Anyways, I know the holiday is not all about gifts, but I got some really good ones. I got 3 books that I had been wanting. I got 2 by Beverly Lewis, and I got "Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover's Soul." I was also given a very nice new watch, Swap, (it's a card game) a few hair things, some earrings, a new shirt, several pairs of socks ( I needed some!) and the hugest surprise of the day, a digital camera! I got a Kodak EasyShare C613, I absoloutely love it! It's super easy to use, and the picture quality is very good. My very kind (sometimes) brother also got a new horse halter for me.
So, now I will be able to post more pix on my blog, yay!
Kitten Update: We took the girl (Star) and the runt boy (Wheezer) to walmart on the 23rd. They were sooo easy to give away! I was worried about Wheezer, I wanted him to go to a good home and I also wanted him to be an inside cat, because he has respiratory problems. A really awesome thing happened!
Sunday morning I prayed a lot that I would find a good home for him. Well, the second person to look at the kittens told me she was looking for a male cat to give to her grandma. Her grandpa had died about a year before and her Grandma said recently that she needed a cat. So, the lady tells me that she had been praying to find the right kitten. I asked her if she was a Christian and she was, and I told her that I was one, and had been praying for him to go a good home. She ended up taking him! I just find it so cool that we had both been prayinng. God is so amazing!
Yesterday, the woman ( I keep forgetting to ask her name) called me ( I had given her my number just incase the cat did not work out) and she told me that her grandma just loved him, and he had helped her a lot already. I was really glad she called and told me that. At first, I thought she was calling to say she needed me to take him back.

Dec. 21, 2007 - Scott's Birthday
Happy 17th Birthday, Scott!!
Actually, yesterday was Scotty's(older brother) 17th Birthday. We were both home alone most of the day. We explored the woods, and I made him macaroni (he LOVES mac and cheese.) Today we're having the family party, I am supposed to make him a cake sometime, and he gets pizza for dinner, which is his favorite food. (I personally hate pizza sauce, but I will eat something else)
Other news, I called my cousin who I bought my horse from, and asked him about my horses' registered name. I just can't get over how funny it is! Especially since he's so calm and sweet, lol. His registered name is... Redneck Rowdy!!... *rotfl*
That definitely does not help me with coming up with a "barn name" for him, lol. Cause I ain't calling him "Rowdy" and I definitely ain't calling him "Redneck"! Lol...

Dec. 11, 2007 - Ice Storm
Yep, we have had an ice storm. My lovely Aunt Jennifer has come and rescued me from having no electricity this evening.
We're going to stay here until Thursday, even though my mom's husband just emailed her and told her that the power was back on.
I wonder how long it will be until we have power at my dad's? We're expecting it to be out for atleast a week.
Last night, I was FREEZING. It wasn't so bad after I went to bed, but even so, I was uncomfortable because I slept on the couch with my sister and the dogs. I was at my dad's, which is even colder than my mom's house because he doesn't even have a gas stove to heat the house.
I no longer think the cloudy sky looks "cool". I am tired of it, and I am ready to see the sun!

Dec. 9, 2007 - Icky
So, I stayed the night at my friend Kristen's house last night. It rained, and thie morning there were icicles everywhere, and the grass was frozen. The roads were okay though. It looks kind of cool because the sky is just one big white cloud. Anyways, today we have had, freezing rain, light hail (didn't last long) and very light snow, which did not stick. I would semi-enjoy this weather IF it was just a nice big snow, and IF I was at my dad's, (which i'm not, i am at mom's) where we have acres and acres to play and explore. I am totally craving snow icecream!

Dec. 7, 2007 - One Reason I Homeschool
Hey y'all,
I actually wrote this over a month ago, but my mom asked me to post it on my blog today, so I am going to.
Why I Decided To Home School
BY VICTORIA SEWELL
As the second semester of my second year at private school went on, I realized how unhappy I had become. Everyday it was the same old thing. Get up, get dressed, got to school, do school, (with scheduled break and extra curricular times). After school, go to Mom's and delay doing my homework, go to Dad's, do homework, go to bed, start again the next morning. I felt like a programmed machine.
By the end of the school-year, I had convinced my dad to try homeschooling again, but just for the first semester to see how it worked out.
During the summer months, I visited my friends, the Shepards. It was there that I learned there is more to education then just schoolwork. I believe it was somewhere in the middle of my first visit that I realized I had absolutely no desire, and would not be going back to school.
Right now, I am at my aunt's house, doing school with her kids. Now I can bring my books with me, and do school wherever and whenever (as long as I get it done during the day) I want. I can choose my own break and lunch times, and I can take a day off whenever needed. Yes, I have liberated myself from the dull, and for me, depressing educational system that the majority of today's society is so caught up in.
Note: This is just the condensed story of why I home school.

Dec. 5, 2007 - The Month Before Christmas
I got this poem in an email, and thought that I had to pass it on!
Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a "Holiday".
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout
MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday!

Dec. 5, 2007 - Pictures
Okay, now that I have forced everyone to wait, hahaha, I have a couple of pix from dickens! I am still waiting for more to be emailed to me, but here ya' go.
From left to right: Adam, Sara, Emily (my sister), Katie and me. This was before the party, at the Shepard's house.
Okay, here is a group picture from when we first got there. From left to right. Michael, Brandon, Sara, Emily, Sarah A., Makayla, Me, (I look fat in my pics), David, Colton, Nikki and Katie off to the right with her violin.

Here we are just standin' around, it was windy, I wasn't looking at the camera. My sister's face in this picture cracks me up!

And here are Emily and Sarah, looking cute.
That's the only pictures I have so far.
I am not as fat as I look in these pics. I have a BMI of like 20, lol.

Nov. 19, 2007 - I'm back!
I am back from the Shepard's.
The retreat was wonderful. I met so many great people. I really loved the musical entertainment by Serene and Pearl and Pearl's daughter, Meadow. The speaker, Nancy Campbell was great! She is such an amazing and inspiring woman.
My friend Sara was asked by Nancy to lead praise and worship with her guitar and she did beautifully!
This last weekend was Dickens On the Boulevard. It was a blast!!! I will write more about it once my friends send me pictures.
Well, I do not have a whole lot of time, but I will be posting again on Wednesday.
