Nov. 23, 2009 - "TABETTO"
We attended the Missouri Right to Life banquet last week. This was the first banquet I had attended in several years. It was good to see the crowd. It was good to know we're not alone in this issue. Jack Cashill spoke. He spoke about the media and many others that TABETTO. For those of you that do not know what that is... (and unless you were there, you won't) It stands for Turning a Blind Eye to the Obvious.
He was talking specifically about abortion, about how 300,000+ people can show up in D.C. for the Life March in January, 2 days after the inauguration and not one liberal media outlet reported it. Want proof... go to Jack's website and order "Thine Eyes." Proof is in the video.
But...
I have been chewing on this for the last week and have come up with many areas where people TABETTO...here are just a few...
It is obvious that a Christian has no business attending movies like Harry Potter and New Moon.
It is obvious that child protective services does NOT protect children...
It is obvious that a Believer, adult or child, has no place in a government school...
It is obvious that abortion is murder
It is obvious that the government cannot run private industry... Chevy found that out the hard way.
It is obvious that the government cannot run healthcare either...but I don't want to find that out the hard way!
It is obvious that homosexuality is a sin...just as drunkeness, fornication, anger, lying etc are sins...
It is obvious that the media worships Obama and disdains those that stand up for truth...
It is obvious that truth cannot be relative!
It is obvious that by seperating ourselves into "African-Americans" "Native-Americans" etc. we are only causing more racism
It is obvious that God created... how else can one REALLY explain how and why everything in this universe works the way it does...Yea, I know "big bang" that's why when a coke can explodes, it piles itself up into one neat place waiting to be cleaned up instead of saturating everything within it's radius with sticky goop...random chaos cannot create order!

Sep. 29, 2009 - Our Summer in a Short
We have been busy this summer. We spent some time in Illinois earlier this year with my cousin and his family. We were able to visit at the church that James Mcdonald pastors and had a wonderful time of fellowship with them. Then over to the Creation Museum, A short trip to Branson, 4th of July with about 50 people at our home, a vacation to Nebraska--yes, Nebraska. There are actually several things to see there. Several overnight guests --LOVE it! And weekends busy with friends. Lots of fun. A couple of weeks ago, the older three started acting classes with a smaller group. They are doing Mary Poppins and Bubba gets to play Burt. Princess gets to play Mrs. Banks. Little Bit is in a different class learning dance moves and tumbling. And they are all taking violin classes. I get to chase Sweet Cheeks while they have fun :) Little Bit was supposed to have cleft-palate repair surgery on the 18th of this month, but he started coughing the Monday before, so we postponed it, until December. I often get asked if Sweet Cheeks is 5 or 6 years old. Those of you that know her story, must also know that getting that questions warms my heart when I think about how close to death's door she was early in life, and how tiny she still was when she came home to us. I often think of her birthmother and wish I could tell her how much we enjoy our precious daughter. Speaking of Sweet Cheeks, she has recently discovered her shadow. It's funny to watch her. "can I wave?" can I touch it?" She also is beginning to love playing with her Dolly. It's fun to watch her growing up...she's still keeping us on our toes. Bubba turned 10 last week! Yikes...can't hardly believe it. Seems like yesterday he was so little, and now he's so grown up. We built a chicken house earlier this summer. Bought laying hens, just sold them. And the chicks came yesterday...about 27 of them... Princess...she turned 13 this summer...another Yikes here! She is growing into such a wonderful young lady. Taller than me now.

Aug. 6, 2009 - We Can Save the Planet!!!!!!
Shane sent me this article yesterday. The basic premise is that if we have even fewer children, we can reduce the carbon footprint and save the planet! So, if we have less than the 1.2 children we are already having in this country, then, what are we gonna save it for? All the animals that will evolve in millions of years, so they can breath fresh air? I don't believe I have seen anything more ridiculous in a long time.
In other words, this article is saying... Let's kill all the humans so the animals can breath fresh air.
Sometimes I think God forgot to give some people their brain...nuf said.
Jul. 14, 2009 - Getting closer, closer, closer...
Okay - it's Rachel & Jillian here!
Just to all those people that ever haphazardly come around to this pretty much dead blog (we haven't posted since February, so...uhh...heh.) we've got some news for you.
First, we are most definitely not "dead". In fact, pricelesspurity.org is where all the action is, we just have it hidden until we're ready to show you all the complete and finished site. Ah, it's gonna look great! We've been praying about it, and God has seriously been inspiring and talking to us.
We're sorry the process is taking us "forever", but we have so many articles to edit and write, so yeah. We're hoping that maybe by the end of this month, if we can get our act together and if it's God's will, then we'll open the site up to the public! Keep praying for us, if we ever enter your minds.
We have guest writers lined up (if you're interested, send us an e-mail at mail@pricelesspurity.org and we'll get back to you as soon as possible)
As for what happens to this particular blog once the new site is done, we'll probably just leave it here as it is for other people to look at.
Check us out on twitter (if you have a twitter) facebook (just getting that started) and myspace.
And of course, feel free to register on the Priceless Purity forums.
Okay, we shall talk to you all later (hopefully next time ON the new site, not on here.)
God bless you all,
~Rachel & Jillian~
Jun. 26, 2009 - The Death of a Legend
This week marked the earthly deaths of several famous people. Ed McMahon died earlier this week. Farrah Faucett and Michael Jackson died yesterday...
And also a man named Zared Zajicek. You may be asking "Who was that?" I never heard of him... well wait, and I'll tell you.
Let me first say that I don't personally know any of these people. Never met Michael, although I remember the sweet child face singing "ABC" on TV and I did see his concert in the 80's at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. Never met Farrah even though I was a faithful watcher of Charlie's Angels. Never won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes, so Ed never knocked on my door. And neither did I know Zared.
Princess asked me yesterday afternoon, why we have children. What purpose do they serve? They take away couple time, you don't get to work, etc. We talked, and at one point, I asked her if she had ever heard the saying that goes something like "a business executive never wished he had spent more time at the office"
After hearing that Michael Jackson died, I started thinking about this. Yes, Jacko was a pop legend. Yes, he was talented. Yes, he was immensely popular. And VERY eccentric. But... in the end... he was alone and a lonely man.
Ed McMahon was legendary as well. Know for "Heeeeeeeeeeeere's Johnny" and for being Johnny's sidekick for... how many years? I honestly can't think of Johnny Carson without thinking of Ed McMahon. But what impact for eternity did Mr. McMahon really contribute. Yes, he helped Johnny bring humor to our lives but really?
Farrah... well, what teen boy didn't you know in the late 70's that didn't have a copy of "the" poster hanging in his bedroom? She was beautiful, she was witty, she was charming. Her "partner" of 17 years was Ryan O'Neal. Never married him. Although I saw yesterday where he was "planning" to ask her once she was able to say yes...(nice save Mr. O'Neal). I say big deal at this point... Again, she offered the world nothing of eternal value.
And Zared. You won't read about Zared's life on Fox News. Or hear Rush Limbaugh mention him. Larry King has never heard of Zared. But from the little I know of him (which is most likely as much as I really know about the other 3 people I wrote of) he was a man that was loved. Zared was a young man of 23. Newly married. And had all of life ahead of him. His new wife stayed by his side in the hospital while he fought for his life in the ICU after he fell off a roof earlier this week. (You can read his story here ). His family and friends obviously adored him.
Again, I am reminded of people like Heather Davis's beloved Eric. David and Marsha Drews young son, Christian. Joseph, a father of six precious children whose mother was called home a few months ago. And many other's whose names will never be mentioned in Hollywood, or New York City, or by Rush, or Lary King... but whose names are engraved in the book of life for all of eternity.
It really brings things into perspective. What is really important? Being know for inventing the moonwalk, wearing one white sparkly glove, "Thriller" "Heeeeeeeeere's Johnny," being beautiful, posing in a provacative red bathing suit on a poster for all the teen boys with raging hormones to hang on their bedroom walls?
Or being a follower of the One True God. Leaving family and friends behind that will mourn you because they knew you, not because you were some pop icon. But because they really knew you and loved you.
So which of these three were the "real" legend????
Just something to think about...
Jun. 22, 2009 - A Contest for Waterproof Training Pants
It's about that time. Potty training time that is for Sweet Cheeks. She is 3 1/2 --yep a little old by some standards, but was not ready last summer and I don't potty train in the winter months. If you'll when she came home at 10 months from Liberia, she couldn't even sit up on her own. And we weren't sure what medical needs were going to need addressed. So I think we've made significant progress... so I was searching for waterproof training pants to have on hand. Apparently Walmart and Babies R Us (at least online) don't believe in carrying the "old fashioned" kind... Maybe they believe that throwing millions more training pants is better for the environment... sorry bunny trail I don't want to go down...but I do have some ideas
So as I was searching I came across a contest onmommyworks blog.
She is giving away a pair of training pants from babybayrs because she thinks they're great.
So, of course, I get an entry for blogging about the contest. Go check it out... they are really cute.
Jun. 10, 2009 - Happy Birthday!!!
Where does the time go???? It seems like yesterday Princess was coming home... she is 13 today. In a way, she's at the beginning of her legacy. We purchased a hope chest for her a few months ago to give her in honor of her beginning journey into womanhood.
This pic was taken at the Daddy/Daughter dance she attended a few months ago:

Happy Birthday sweet daughter! May you continue to grow in grace and in the nurture and admonition of the Lord! We LOVE you!
