God is So Good...
I am so excited to have started the day out with God and in doing so having yet another wonderfully great homeschooling day with Faith. Giving God the Glory first, starting out with Bible study. Get this she even wanted to add yet another book to her Bible Study part. Now she is reading her words that she knows in the Bible and then two pages in her w/b, we started a new one today David and Goliath, then she added a book titled, The Greatest Story Ever Told. She did all her other parts of her w/b. I am so proud of her. This extra giving of stickers is just her thing.....
Yesterday one of her friends that she use to go to school with called her. It was a shock to us all. As at 5 who gets phone calls other then from grandparents?? I had realized that we both missed our friends at her school, BUT, I have to say that I am for ever grateful to God for placing us on this road and this journey together. I am forever changed becasue of it. Praise be to God!!
Well tomorrow is the start of the Canadian Thanks Giving Holidays. Poppie called to tell us he was heading up here to bring us some furniture they no longer need and would be a great up-date for us. I asked him is he would take Faith with him in the car, heading back. I am planning to take a nice slow drive to my parents. I want to get some fall pictures done and a few of the old barns before the snow hit us. I am looking forward to having 3 days with mom and dad, plus seeing some other family. May everyone have a good Thanks Giving and May God Bless you and your family.

Much better Day.
Reading some blogs last night and read that one mom was thinking the day didn't go well because she didn't start with Bible? Well is that what happen to us on Wednesday?? Not a good day, public school was really looking good.
Today was amazing. 10 pages total counting her Bible w/b. Plus reading two chapters of her age level Bible. I got 2 hours and 45 minutes of great work from her that I am happy to report that public school is back out!! lol
I wonder was it the hs bowling group and knowing that if she didn't do school work after she couldn't go next time?? Who knows and who cares. Her w/b comes with charts and stickers for set of pages done and stickers for the charts. Well I put in some extra stickers and she LOVED that. I am now wondering are stickers her think?? Dollar Store here I come.
So after having a GREAT day with her, it made me heading out to Bible School much more relaxing.
Nemo did have to die for Science. "Mommy I just wanted to see how gills worked" God Bless our little ones.

Boy if I only had know......
Did we ever wake up to a shock this morning and after all the dusted had settled and I had time to think of what really was going on, it was pretty funny.
Faith as normal wakes before us. Well this morning when my husband went out to see her in the kitchen for breakfast, she had herself LOCKED in the bathroom. He asked her what she was doing "Nothing, Daddy", but when he tried to open the door and it being lock he KNEW something was up???? As how often does a kid even close the bathroom door when they use it?? Well Faith paniced when she realized that daddy can still open the door when it is locked, went crying in to her bed room. He followed but could get much from her. He decided to enter the bathroom to see if he could figure anything out.
NEMO WAS NOT IN HIS TANK......
After some quick searching he found poor Nemo in behind the garbage can. Well still at this hour we are not really sure WHY, she took Nemo out of the tank. As this is not her first fish and she is all that much older now. Nemo was over 2 years old, to boot.
Anyway, after some thinking on my part. I think I know why it happened?? Can't confirm it as every time we tried to talk about it, she cries. Well last week, some how durning class at the table breathing and people came up? Then she asked how a fish breaths, I try to give her the gills on the side of there neck. How do they breath in the water? Well as I was not sure of the answer I said that was the way GOD made the fish. Faith was really stuck on where the gills were. NOW, I see that at that moment I should have STOPPED the schooling we were doing and hit some books and the internet. I did not do that. So today why did Nemo come out of the tank, I bet it was to find the "GILLS" and how they worked......

Faith in Action

Here is Faith in her Jitsu class. At this point she is the only girl in her age level. I love this picture, but it really makes you think that she is giving it to him. I reality, this little guy didn't want to fight Faith, he wouldn't defend himself or hit back. It looks like she is really hitting him, but the rules are very important about where they can hit and how hard. She has her classes Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings. She loves it. She is a little confused at why it doesn't end. She has only ever been in anything where it's some many weeks and done.
We went skating today for the first time, this season. They have a free preschool skate here where they allow strollers on the ice. Which means Mom can go on the ice with her. Any other time they DO NOT allow me. Although I get very cold very fast and have to keep leaving her on the ice to warm up and then come out again. I watch her she is very good at making friends. Sad becasue this most likely will be the last year for it, unless I can find favor at that rink, and they let her keep going, when she is 6???
Faith isn't liking the fact that grade one has so much more writing the Kindergarten. She didn't want to work in her workbooks last week and I let her do Starfall on-line, for the week. Wondering now if that was a mistake as today it was "mommy I want to do my work on the computer" So now I am wondering how to make the workbook as exciting as the computer or will I just have to put my foot down. I'll let you know what happens.
Thank you to LittleEblingsAcademy. I took some time looking at your blog. I can't even figure out how to respond to you, hence why it's here. I hope to learn and get as good as you are with this?? I enjoyed looking and taking everything in. I also looked that you listed the books you are reading. I never grow up reading books, so don't have favorite to share with Faith. I am happy to see titles of ones that might become favorites for Faith and I.
Wondering how much school work will get done this week. Daddy came home to tell us he was "ordered" to take 4 days off. We'll have to see.

The Family

Starting out
Well I just started homeschooling in January 2007. In the beginning it was more stressful then I thought, and I never could see me sticking it out. Well it's now September and it is going really well. Faith and I are both very happy. We are very happy to be together and NOW I can see doing this longer then I first had planned.
Faith is 5 and in grade one. We started our journey in a private school that used ACE, me thinking that it was just unfair to homeschool an only child. Boy I was WRONG. We took her out, in order to keep her speech therapy going. She loves sports. She does Jitsu, swimming, skating(for fun), not to mention the other great homeschooling activities we do.
I am happy that I am back to my full swing of things. I attend Healing School on Tuesday, Bible School on Thursdays. Plus one for my friends from school. We pick up an extra class from our Bible School together. I am right now taking a Palliative care course that is 30 hours in a month, and then hope to get some volunteer hours in the local hospital here.
Daddy is a medic in the Army. We are very proud of him. We are also very bless to have him home. He is an instructor at the base hospital. Teaching the field end of the medical world.
Faith is and will be our only child unless God has other plans?? I am hoping to keep this blog up to help other disable parents out here that are homeschooling or thinking of it. Maybe finding some others like me for some support too?
