Christmas Ponderings

I read this quote on Anne's blog today and I'm posting it here because it's along the lines of what I've been thinking about Christmas this year.

"The spirit of Christmas needs to be superseded by the Spirit of Christ.

The spirit of Christmas is annual; the Spirit of Christ is eternal.

The spirit of Christmas is sentimental; the Spirit is Christ is supernatural.

The spirit of Christmas is a human product; the Spirit of Christ is a divine person.

That makes all the difference in the world"

AMEN SISTER! If all the Christian spirit we have is evident only in December [and that by flashing, multi-colored lights], we've missed the whole point.
