Psalm of the Week: Psalm 45
April 4, 2008
Mostly Photos
I was looking through the Patterson Irrigator this morning and WOW, Elias took this great picture of a softball game last week! I was just looking at it and wishing I could take a picture like that. The timing was perfect. I was impressed. So, I go to the photo lab later in the day and who do you think is printing right next to me!!!? Elias Funez of course. How intimidating. I've seen him at the lab before, but he has never been printing in the darkroom while I've been there. I guess there is no good reason to be scared of him, but I am. Now I will be scared to go to his booth at the Apricot Fiesta. He might recognize me and think I actually know something about photography. I don't. I just like to take pictures. This is a really bad introduction for a post that was originally going to be just a bunch of photos. I'm still waiting for my pictures to upload to flickr, so I have to write something to fill the time. You know, I had this dream that there was a mouse in my room...

These are just some pictures of my family. I like them (I mean the family)!

Rachel, me and Kirsten "practicing" for the song we did for the Easter service.

Kirsten is distracted. We are only supposed to be singing!

I'm distracted too. Mirrors are just so fascinating...

Bonnie's pre-Easter haircut.

Matthew and Brian, glued to the T.V.

I think this one is my favorite. What is Brian thinking?

~Jessica~

P.S. To mom: In answer to some of your questions, the prom I'm going to is the one unofficially dubbed "our prom" as opposed to "real prom."  I'm going to prom with Joel. We are going bowling so there will be no dresses or boutonnières involved. I'll have to find some fun socks though.

P.S. To Thomas: See you Monday after next!

There is something so indescribably charming about black and white photography, especially when they are pictures of people. Lovely, as always. Tell Rachel she needs to SMILE more. If she does not, I'll have to drop by and cheer her up!

The picture of Suzanna and Brian remind me of the Drama Masks, total opposites...

Well, I am off; Hector Family life seems to be running from one activity to the next!!!!!

Later,

BFH

P.S. Did you spell boutonniθre without having to look it up? If so, I am duly impressed.

P.S.S. I expect to see pictures of your fun socks, even if it after the prom. (Does everyone wear fun socks? Maybe that could be a post, pictures of the socks everyone wore...)

I originally looked up boutonniθre. I spelled it so badly about three times until I just looked up corsage and found a website that sold boutonniθres. Jessica probably already could spell it.

Oh, I love taking pictures into the mirror! Our camera doesn't seem to like it, though. :-/

The dress you are wearing in that one picture is lovely! Did you make it? I adore white clothing.

I will comment on each wonderful picture...

1. Ben and I both agree that this one should be in a gallery in LA. The organization of the three sisters plus the EURO reference among other things officially classify this picture as "modern".

2. I see a reality tv show for this one. It could be about a poor country western singer that travels across the states in her little trailer pulled by a 1959 Chevy pickup.

3. The possibilities for #3 are endless... you have just thought of a way to cut the photographer from the fashion shoot. Have the model take her own picture in the mirror! You know how much money you will probably save GAP?

4. The lighting is excellent. The way it comes at Bonnie from the right and hits Kirsten's face on the left is superb. Speaking of Bonnie... she can't be that old yet.... can she?

5. Whatever they were watching looks to be very interesting. I wish I was there with them.

6. Have you ever wondered what a boy on a bike and his sister next to him would look like in Kansas? Look no further... I can just picture Brian with dust from head to toe, and Susy-Anna with the hair like golden corn... I would say we're not in Kansas anymore, but come to think of it we never were...

This comment turned out longer than I was expecting. I should learn to stop expecting things.

I will see y'all on Monday!

April 6, 2008 - I like pictures.

Marian can't get over my prowess of an hispanic accent - her's sounds asian.

Mattchew and Brian-Bobby are soooo!
Your dress is sooo!

I was wondering if you could give me the date we are seeing Phantom. I just want to make sure it's not the same as the Pastor's Wives Retreat I'm working at in May. I'm really excited to see Phantom! I just hope it's as good as an off-Broadway show, since it's more like off-off-Broadway . . . I shall keep my hopes up!

I can hardly wait for school to end!!!!!!!!!!!

It was slightly chilly today. I hope you know that I got an excellent score on my Philosophy test! If I already told you, I am sorry. But "I'm so excited it makes me giddy!" (Persuasion)

Marian only watches the second disc of Pride and Prejudice, when I get back I want to watch the first.

As you probably noticed, I am rambling on because I have very little to say of any import.

So, goodbye. Until you comment me.

I'm so glad I'm homeschooled too. I would be a lot different now, had I gone to a public school and been exposed to all sorts of nonsense. ;-)

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it. Our camera isn't very high quality, but it serves its purpose!

April 9, 2008 - JAMES!

This is a day-late "Happy Birthday" to James/Santiago. I'm sorry to tell you happy day on Dalton's b-day, but at least I said it.
YOU ARE SOOOO OLD! At least you make ME feel old. I hope yesterday was extremely heavenly, but not so much that you went there . . .
Feliz Cumpleanos!
~Katalina

P.S. To Jess.
I don't really know what I want to say to you in the P.S, I just knew if I didn't leave anything for you it might upset the living daylights out of your system. My Demonstration speech is going to be on Massage therapy. YES!! I don't even have to research it!
I was sickly yesterday so after class I layed around, coughing, sneezing and blowing my nose. Today all I did was blow my nose. An improvement I suppose. (Hey that rhymes!)

April 19, 2008 - Good morning-almost-noon!

I get to go see "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" today. Not like I haven't seen it a bunch of times . . . but this one is different- actual guys will play the boys!
I hope your week went well, mine was pretty good slash( /) okay. I want to go home sooooo bad!!! I will soon, I just have to wait it out. And do homework I don't want to do. And figure out next year housing. Joy. So far it's looking like me and Brittany won't be living together next semester, if not, I'll probably be living with Marian. We'll see!!!
I got a whole bunch of new clothes from Marian! We had a rummage sale the other day in the dorms. She gave me some clothes to put out- but I went through them first.
I'm excited to go home, but don't know for sure where I'll put all my stuff. My sisters seem to have adjusted very nicely to living with only two to a room. Imagine that!
I think I'll call you right now. If you're there, and available (available for what?), then I'll probably tell you everything in this comment and it was pointless. If I don't talk to you then my life will be meaningless again . . . I sound emo!
Bye!
~Kat

Howdy! I clicked on the 'random blogger' button and found your blog! It must be a lot of fun to have 9 siblings.... although I don't know if I could handle it! I have 3 siblings - one older, two younger. I really enjoyed you pictures!!

Have a blessed day! ~Erica

Jessica's dress on Easter was yellow with a white sweater. It's black and white photography, so it's a little tricky. By the way, when the little short sweaters came into style, Jessica pulled this one out of the closet and started wearing it. It was her little girl sweater when she was 7 years old or something. Very thrifty Jessica!
