School's Out. Yay!
If you tried to break into our house (to steal stuff or something) you would fail. There are all kinds of crazy booby-traps to keep you out. Like the invisible clothesline, the motion sensor potato guns or (my personal favorite) the super sticky doorknob. And there is Daisy. Daisy the Dreadful. It would be very difficult to penetrate the stronghold that is our home. It's keeping people in that is the problem.
Brian decided to take a walk today. He walked kinda far. There is a road that follows the irrigation ditch (not the road on our property, the one in front of the house) and that is where Brian decided to take a stroll. I would never have been brave enough to walk that far when I was two years old. After the whole family had been looking for him for 20 minutes, Kirsten finally found him. His explanation: "I was running with the puppy!" Daisy the Dreadful is a bad influence on the poor boy.
I wish I could fit in these boots.

P.S. To Mr. R: You were not the last to comment. Your son beat you to the finish... or whatever the opposite of that is.
P.S. To Mrs. Reynolds: I need to go to your house to watch American Idol.
P.S. To MR: Your quotes were cool. I liked the second one.
P.S. To Mrs. Hector: I didn't even know any of my family was going up to your house until Ben (Dunfee) gave me a hug. I thought "wow, that was weird." Then he said, "That was from Mrs. Hector, not from me." Oh.
P.S. To Ben and Thomas: I want to play Nertz. And Snaps.
P.S. To Erica: You should watch more musicals.
P.S. To Mom: Capitan Crunch. I'm so humiliated. Please don't tell anyone.
P.S. To Kat: Sorry if I was grumpy to you on Wednesday. Can we watch Star Wars now? Have you had Strawberries yet? I'm glad you are home. Hey, you know snaps!
P.S. To Becca F. and RED: I don't really know if either of you read this blog. I miss you both.
P.S. To Joel: I want to see the picture of Robin Hood and Little John.
P.S. To Rachel: Stop laughing. No really, stop. Let's go to the Studio and play 'Son of God.' ♫

May 1, 2008 - The doorknob...

Oh the sticky doorknob thing is not on purpose. It's just that so many of us like peanut butter and jam. And the clothesline is quite visible in daylight. Especially with clothes hanging.
You mean Baby Brian was only missing for 20 minutes!!! I thought it was an hour, it felt long. I decided not to get too worried because all three dogs were missing as well, therefore I was confident they were with him. They were. Brian wandered off twice before, but he hasn't grown out of it, nor become able to find his own way home. I haven't had a wanderer before. Very stressful.
Happy captain crunch.

I didn't notice if you were grumpy - must mean it happens a lot! (Just Kidding! Or "JK")
I'm sorry you got a low score during bowling - but I cheered for you the whole time!!!!!! In my mind . . .
Yeah! I saw strawberries when I came into your house, but I did have some yesterday at the Torres', yours will be better though, I'm sure.
I hope we watch a good movie tonight - Matthew just yelled "guys!" at whoever was listening but his voice echoed in the room addition and sounded quite odd. I smell salsa! But it might also be something else, like baby fish . . . but probably not . .
I love you! I'm so glad to be home! I know you'll give me some good ideas for my b-day. In the immortal words of Sharpay Evans to her brother Ryan, "I trust you".
Little kiss, big kiss, little hug-for-you!
~Kat
P.S.
Kirsten and Bonnie sure keep a good eye on everything I'm doing, their breath is hot on my neck.

You. Are. Funny. Do you think I would break into your house? I'll be sure to discourage that one guy with the moustache.... He doesn't know what he's getting into! Boobie traps are amazing. I make them with my cousins sometimes. Ever tried using that clear packing tape? It is my secret force. But I have now told you of its power, so I guess it's no longer a secret...
Have a great day! ;-)

May 6, 2008 - How could I ever forget...

My Father's Dragon is still one of the all-time great books. It has a charm and innocence that will always appeal to me. That combined with the time we spent reading it as a group gives it a special place in my literary favorites.
Hmmmm.... I would say that your house must have a soft spot for old family friends. I have broken in on many an occasion, and live to tell the tale. Though, my wounds from the potato gun are still healing up...
Long live Daisy the Dreadful!!!! May she be a benevolent, though still suitably dreadful, and learn to lead Brian in the paths of Righteousness.
Later!
BFH
P.S. I too want to play Nertz... But not with Red, she beats me to often for that to be all together enjoyable.
P.S.S. I am going to give you extra points for actually guessing!!! The guess was even originally hilarious. No one else even tried. I am proud of you for following directions. Come to think of it, you are usually pretty good about that...

Yes, Job is amazing! I made it a point to read it all the way through, but my favorite part is the end! I never get tired of seeing God's majesty manifested in nature. From thunderstorms to crashing surf to lazily floating clouds I feel His presence everywhere! How anyone can believe in Evolution I don't know...
Anyway, glad you liked the post!!

Hi, I found your blog post through a search for "Nertz". It is cool to see others that know about the game. I hope you don't mind but I wanted to let you know about playnertz.com, the site for the National Nertz Association. There is a bunch of interesting Nertz information there and you can also find out how to play Nertz online there. I hope you will check it out. Feel free to join and also let your friends and family know. Thanks again
