Life along The Way with the V's

Sixteen Candles...and other random thoughts

Well our first born turned 16 yesterday.  It is hard to believe that much time has passed since her birth.  We surprised her with a surprise party where all of her aunties and uncles,  cousins, grandparents and a few close friends came.  She was surprised and happy.  I made her a special book that had messages and memories from everyone in it, as well as a few pictures.  It was very special.  She felt loved.

We are getting ready to start school.  We are doing a Virtual Highschool for our highschoolers this year which I am really excited about.  I can't believe we have 2 in HS this year.  It will be a busy year I am sure.

My pregnancy is moving along quite nicely.  The baby is BIG and healthy.  This one is a very quiet baby and doesn't move as forcefully.  It amazes me that you can tell the personality of someone before they are born.  We have chosen names for the baby.  We know what the sex is but are not telling anyone.  He he he!!  I guess ya'll have to wait until the big day.  I am hoping for another homebirth if things go well.  I want to give birth in the bathtub...R is not quite so sure yet...I have time to convince him.  :)

E is getting so big.  He is so smart.  He  is such a pleasure.  He has started trying to speak, he can say "ba boo"  I love you.  Also "da choo"  Got you.  Mama, Dadee, "tat" cat.  He signs all done and eat.  Both of those have been helpful in knowing what he wants.  He still loves the drums and tries to sneak into the music room all the time.

We had a lovely mini vacation.  We spent lots of time boating, swimming, tubing, hiking etc.  We really needed a getaway.  Although we came back sick.  Ugh!  It was great.  J has been working all summer and really needed a time to just relax and rest.

Dave and Cindy and Asher ( brother in law and sister in law and nephew) visited for the last 2 weeks.  It was so great to see them.  I so wish they lived closer.  We get along so well and I just LOVE little Asher.  So much changes in little guys in a year which is about how often we see them.  He is so much fun.  And of course visiting with D and C is so wonderful.  I am so glad I married into a big family.  It makes up now for not having any siblings, we have a pretty good relationship with all of them which such a blessing.

Anyway I guess that is all.  We keep pluggin away.  R and I are doing great.  What a blessing to have such a great friend as my life's partner.  I can't imagine life without him.  God is GOOD!

Blessings~~~

BIG spiritual muscles!!!

11:30 AM, Jul. 4, 2007 .. Posted in Family Life .. 0 comments .. Link

I believe that when all the testing I am going through is done my spiritual muscles are gonna be bigger than Schwarzenegger's physical ones!  LOL!

Hmm where to begin?  Well C is leaving officially on July 18.  I don't understand why?  I was pretty angry and confused with God about it all.  I was spending more time grumbling to Him and about Him then with Him asking for strength and direction.  So I repented and am doing my best to remain steadfast in Him.  This is by far the hardest thing we have ever gone through with one of the children.  I had to pack up some of her things yesterday and almost fell apart.  I can't imagine when she is really gone.  R said the other day how hard it will be to do things in 3's again rather than 4's like we have gotten used to.  sigh~~~

My dryer broke yesterday and almost caught on fire.  I decided to go and put one more piece in the washer when I noticed smoke.  Our smoke detector broke a couple weeks ago and dh hasn't yet installed the new ones.  Thank God He lead me back to the laundry room, who knows what we could have lost...  Needless to say the new smokes will be being installed tonight when R gets home.

Our main bath renovation is almost complete.  Just a couple very small things left to do.  R did a great job and now needs a vacation from all the work he has been doing.  It is such a treat to have 2 beautiful bathrooms now.  The jacuzzi tub is beautiful and SO relaxing!

E is sick.  He has a fever and was barfing last night, poor guy.  Of course barfing when the dryer is not working.  More testing, more muscle!!

J is working at a summer camp for the month of July.  We visited her yesterday.  She seems to be doing well.  She is tired and working hard but totally loving it!  She comes home Saturday and leaves again Sunday afternoon.  Boy do I miss her or what!

N came home yesterday from a week away with Oma and Opa at SIL and BIL's camp.  He had a great time and didn't want to come home.

D will be leaving the second week in July for Calgary with R's BIL and sis.  He is SO excited.  He graduated this year.  What a pleasure it was to see my young man in his new suit looking like a million bucks and knowing that I helped get him to that point.  God is good!

I guess that is all for now.  Life has been busy and full and we continue onward in the grace and mercy of God!

Blessings

November 30 2007!!!

10:21 AM, May. 30, 2007 .. Posted in Family Life .. 3 comments .. Link

Guess what is significant about that date??  Our newest blessing is due to be born then!  That's right folks we are scaring the family once again with a precious new blessing.  God is so amazing to continue blessing us.  We are humbled and grateful for His goodness.  There are many who do not or will not share this sentiment as they can't see the blessing of new life as we and God do, however we don't care.  We are excited and happy and so looking forward to seeing who God has given us this time.

So surprise!  Close your mouths it isn't polite to gape like that!  :)

Blessings

Loose tooth!!

12:16 PM, Jan. 25, 2007 .. Posted in Family Life .. 0 comments .. Link

D is totally pumped as she has her first loose tooth!  She almost went through the roof yesterday when she discovered it.  Last week she had to have an abcessed tooth removed which was a little traumatic.  Poor girl.  She was very brave however and handled it very well considering.  Now we have to get a spacer for her as she was no where near ready to lose the tooth.  : /

R is close to finishing the tile work in our master bathroom.  I am so excited!!  Once this one is finished (it's only been a year. LOL!)  We are starting on the upstairs main bath.  I have already advised him that I cannot live without a main bath for a year, or a month for that matter...He promises that it will be done much faster as he knows what he is doing now and it won't be nearly as fancy...Time will tell.  I'll keep you posted!

E man is calling me, I mustn't keep the King waiting!  :)

Blessings~~~

My E man...

7:07 PM, Jan. 18, 2007 .. Posted in Family Life .. 1 comments .. Link

I forgot to tell ya'll, E is now 21 lbs.  He is wearing 18mths clothes all the time now.  He is sitting on his own.  Waving bye bye.  Clapping his hands.  Rolling everywhere.  Trying to crawl, kinda doing the commando crawl, and push ups too.  He likes to say Ba ba ba, and bla bla bla.  He is absolutely lovely!!  Just thought I would have a little brag fest about my E man!!

Blessings~~~
