Nov. 16, 2007 Injured chicken
| Some of our chickens escaped today and one of them was bloody on his tail. We let him back in and the other chickens started pecking at his bloody spot. So, we took him, wiped off the blood, and put St.John's Wort oil on it. Then, we put it in our barn in a cage so that he wouldn't get worse. We think it is from pecking and for some reason, they pecked him. Maybe they were fighting to see who would be the leader. |

Nov. 14, 2007 A look at the chickens
This is one of our feather-footed chickens. They always explore new places. They always peck at your shoes when you walk in. The feather-footed are some of my favorites. I also like the Rhode Island Reds, the black and white ones that we think are Barred Rocks, and the Black Giants. I fill their food every day. Chickens are great to have. |

Nov. 10, 2007 The weird plumber
| Some weeks ago, Meagan and I were doing workbook pages and all of a sudden, I heard the door open. I thought, "Why is mama going outside?" Then, mom said, "Hello?" and the plumber said, "Plumber." He had walked right into our house without knocking! We were all very surprised! In the end, he fixed our toilet. We are still pondering over it. We've seen him in a couple stores every once in a while and it always makes us wonder again. Why? |

| Chief Wahoo, our cat, has caught about 20 mice. She hisses at our kitten. We don't know if Chief Wahoo is the mother of our kitten. Every time she gets in with our chickens, she crouches like she's going to hunt, but she hasn't killed one yet. One time, when I was closing up the chicken coop, she was in there laying down sleeping! She really likes me and if I run, she runs after me. She is a great cat. |

Vikings were known for their raids. Before raiding, they would build warships and weapons. They also packed food and weapons into their warships. Then, they would be ready to go on the raid.
On the raid, they would kill monks and villagers. Sometimes, the Vikings would get killed, too. They would also kill livestock to eat. They would steal precious gold, jewels, and other items from temples. They would capture people to sell as slaves. Vikings were great warriors on raids, and were feared by the people they fought. |

Nov. 5, 2007 Old Treehouse
Welcome to my blog. This is where I am going to write about things that happen in my life and also put my school assignments.
First, I'd like to tell you about my treehouse. It has old wood. Very old wood, probably. It has a short flight of stairs leading to the main tree. It goes across two trees. My friend Jacob, my sister Meagan, and I have been rebuilding it and cleaning it. Jacob added a pull-up bar so I can practice my pull-ups. It is in the forest behind the chicken coop and you can climb on the chicken coop's roof from the treehouse! We're not allowed to go up there anymore because everyone rips their pants on the sharp points! I love working on the treehouse. |
