Strange week...
Monday morning I woke up to a beautiful sunrise. Thinking that today would be a perfect day. I would get up, do some school before practicing violin a bit and then leaving for violin lessons. Once we got home, I would practice violin some more, then I would clean the house extra good. After that I might bake a pie or something, then go make a fort, or go swimming, or play with the dogs. Maybe all three. Instead, I got out of bed to find two worried parents, and all the doors, and windows locked. Now, living in a very small town where nothing ever gets stolen, and almost nothing bad happens, this is pretty unusual. So, while I was eating my "Honey Bunches of Oats" cereal, (My favorite!) My Dad profoundly stated, "Everyone, I have an anouncment." So I straitened up and listened.
Just to let you know, I am watching LOtR while I write this, which explains my unusual writing style today.
Anyway, so my Dad suddenly stated, "Well ya' know how there's a jail just down tha' road?"
Living in a small town also means that very strange things get put in very odd places. Such as, a prison in the back of a neighborhood. That neighborhood just happens to be mine.
Unfortunetly, we did know about the jail. So he continued.
"Well, one of the prisoners escaped. "
Great. There goes my perfect day.
Well, there was the usual, what you would expect if a dangerous (Or so we learned later) criminal escaped out of a prison just down the road.
Driving to violin lessons a few hours later, I noticed a change. There was a police officer every 100 ft. every once in a while you would see one with a HUGE gun. The strange part was, they didn't stop anyone. They just watched all the cars drive past. Okay, so this dangerous guy escapes out of prison a few hours earlier. Lets have every cop in the city stand on this one road and watch cars drive by. Wow. Great security. I'm impressed. Really.
Now, as you can imagine, my Dad got rather upset about this, and called someone about it. I don't really know who, I just know it was someone of importance. So, he ended up being on the News at some point, in front of our house, and I was watching through the window behind him. Go ahead, tell all your friends, I know, I am so famous.
Long story short, they still haven't caught him. He is still on the loose, and all the cops left! So yeah, I feel safe now. ;-) I think there was a sighting of him in another city though, so we should be okay. :-)
