Battle for escape
| Kit sat silently on top of a statue. Some of the other Jedi were in the back of the statue, armed with blasters and lightsabers. The remaining Jedi ,including Shaak Ti and her young apprentice, were situated just below the ceiling with straps that secured them and let them hang comfortably. They all waited in silence for the clone troopers to arrive. Kit remembered when he learned patience at the temple. He was young like all Jedi start out. He had a hard time grasping the concept of patience. Why did he have to wait? Time may seem slow to pass, but patience brings wisdom. See you will in good time. Yoda's words rang in his head as if he were just a student again hearing those words for the first time. For indeed he would after that hear those words repeatedly spoken. Footsteps interrupted his far off thoughts. Through the force he warned the rest of the Jedi. I heard it as well. Shaak Ti told him. Kit slid down the back of the statue and pulled out his heavy blaster. He looked at the Jedi around him, they looked ready but not eager for battle. He then turned to see the majority of the clone troopers enter the room ,blasters at ready position in their hands. He again used the force as his communication. Shaak Ti, do it. Shaak Ti signaled to Kit and replied Yes with the force. Shaak Ti and her troops swung silently towards the clones. They took out their slingshots and fired what they called "Blaster balls". What the balls accomplished was a authentic blaster like sound that fooled the clones into thinking they were rapidly firing blasters. The clones responded by shooting every direction but upward. The clones of course shot nothing but the ground and part of the giant statue. The darkness of the room gave the Jedi the upper hand. It was the next Jedi groups turn. Kit and his troops shot just around the statue and made blaster fire bounce of the walls ,sometimes into the clone troopers. The "illusion" had begun. The clones kept repeatedly firing and missed every time. At the back of the clone group, one of the clone commanders contacted the other clone group at the back of the temple. They were on their way very quickly. Kit heard this news and smiled ,everything was going well enough. The blaster fire continued ,and the clones moved forward sneakily only to be shot down by the quick witted Jedi. The clones then got the bright idea to fire up, making the Jedi's tough job even more difficult. The Jedi used the force to scope out where the blaster fire would appear next. They quickly evaded it. Then through the corner of his eye ,Kit saw the clone reinforcements arrive. All of them. Shaak Ti saw it as well, and signaled for her troops to descend. Her troops did so and picked up the rest of the Jedi. Kit was drawn up by Shaak Ti and taken into a hole in the ceiling. Kit looked down and saw the clones circle the statue. They continued firing. Soon Kit would be out of the temple. He and the rest of the Jedi would go out the "Back door". He wondered what he would do once outside of the temple. What would he do for the rest of his life? |
