Hearts of Valor
| The temple burned. Completely ablaze. Kit had just leaped off of the top of the temple, watching this horrific sight. And he couldn't do one thing about it. Order 66 was spreading the galaxy rapidly, although the Jedi would not vanish entirely. Kit landed shockingly fast and it stung his well traveled feet. Seconds afterwards, He saw his fellow Jedi land in the same way. They all looked to the Jedi beside them and nodded. Then, they half ran half force jumped down the temples ziggurat and various towers. Kit could still hear the sound of blaster fire erupting from the back entrance of the temple. And then he heard a different type of noise. An exclamation of a sort. He knew that voice. Then He felt a surge in the force. Whoever it was, it was in danger. He knew Shaak Ti would go back and help the Jedi. He felt another surge. This time it was a more of a sting. He looked beside him and saw Kindrix Cha fall face down on the floor. His feelings told Kit to go to Kindrix, and the force did as well. He obeyed them both. He dropped to the ground and reached into the force, Kindrix was fading fast. " I have failed... I hav... I failed Her...." Kindrix managed to choke out. Kindrix died in Kit's arms. There was no time to mourn. No time to meditate on this apprentice's death. No time for a proper burial. Kit quickly turned His attention to Shaak Ti. But, before he could fully face her, He saw a Clone sniper. The trooper was taking aim. Kit reflexively jumped towards Shaak Ti. For the last time ever He watched those beautiful eyes turn and look strait at Him. The sniper had done it's job. The blaster fire had been delivered strait to the heart of Shaak Ti. Kit had been seconds off of saving Her. Focus on Him right now. Help Him please... Kit help... Him... Shaak Ti passed those few words to Kit before She passed away. Kit tried to hold back the tears as he lifted the fading Jedi off the temple wall. He ran as fast as he could towards the others. He quickly caught up to them just as they were to jump on to the aircraft. He force jumped up and into the ship. His loss was great, His strength was greater. |
