Pregnancy Update

Well, I'm just 2 days from 26 weeks. I had a check-up yesterday and everything is great. The baby is extremely low and that is my midwife's only concern. She is afraid that as she grows these last 3 months, the pressure could put me at risk for pre-term labor. Right now the baby is 2 pounds. I will need to wear a pregnancy support belt. Apparently it forces the baby to move upward and takes pressure off of the amniotic sac. That explains why I am already having contactions. :-/ So, I bought a belt and will go back in three weeks to make sure this baby has moved and is not putting herself in the birth canal.

To date I have gained 4 pounds.  100 days left!!!!!!

Hi! Just so you know, it is extremely normal to have braxton hicks contractions much earlier in a subsequent pregnancy, without any other factors causing it. Mine have started earlier with each pregnancy, and this time (my fourth) they started at around 14 weeks pregnant, which was certainly annoying! I went to the hospital a couple of times because they were just so early, but in the end the doctor told me that it's just normal for the way I have pregnancies, and this is my fourth.

I'm now 37 weeks pregnant and have shown no signs of preterm labour, so it's all good :)

At my last appointment the midwife I saw (not my normal one) told me that the bh that I'm having now were simply because bubby is so large (7pd 11oz already), which is funny cause that certainly doesn't explain why I was having bh so much earlier! Sometimes I think they just make up a theory and pass it off as authoritative.

But yeah, definitely follow your midwife's advice and everything, but don't stress about the bh, they're just normal.

Love the pregnancy belt! It will help you to zip around in a way that you never imagined! Even if you weren't having the BH, I would recommend it!

Praying for you, man.
