Our Pets

Here is our zoo..

First off ,, the bunny Brownie and her kits.  She was a rescue,, her prior owner could no longer care for her (former breeder)and was going to take her to auction(YIKES!! here in FL that is tiger owners and people who eat rodents).  Here she is with her seven kits, we are going to keep three and rehome the other four to a few other homeschool families.

Here is a photo of our chinchilla cages.  My daughter is going to be going to her first chinchilla show in November.  Right now we have five chinchillas, one whom is a kit (Coconut) and she is bringing to the show.

Walt Disney World

So.. we renewed our passes for Disney again this year. This is one of my favorites of the fireworks at Epcot.  We have been annual passholders for about 9 years now.  I wasn't sure if going to Disney during the summer months was going to happen again this year, but it seems we cannot resist. LOL

I love the fact that we live behind Magic Kingdom. I tell our children often that other kids don't get the chance to visit so much.  Plus ,, it is amazing how many teaching oportunities there are in the parks.  Epcot is a wealth of information, science, social studies, history. Animal Kingdom,, of course biology / science. Hollywood Studios (I am going to forever think of it as MGM) has more of a
movies feel to it.  Magic Kingdom is just plain fun, though my least favorite of the parks.

I now have my homeschool classroom again ((finally!!)) , and at night we can see the fireworks.  I didn't do a Disney theme in the classroom like the rest of the house. Kept it simple, desks, chalkboard, bookshelf, curriculum.  I am so glad that I took the summer off this year. I need that 3 month break,, I try to follow the PS traditional planned year.  Only difference is that I go by Michigan school  year which doesn't start until after labor day. Florida schools are so focused on the FCAT and what grade / or funding they  have lost sight of the student.  They have shortened the summer ,, FL students go back in about a week or so.
