I love living in Florida!
This is what my children did today:

Tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 68, so I know we will lose some heat from the pool, but it was fabulous to see them swimming again! For those who care, it was about 80 degrees both in the air and in the water. Did I mention that I love Florida? And solar heating?
Yesterday we planted a container garden. The girls planted strawberries and tomatoes, Adventure Boy planted banana peppers, strawberries, and basil, and I planted some lettuce, broccoli, and cucumbers. We will be able to make a fantastic salad if things grow as expected. I actually have a reputation for killing plants, so I'm going to try to let the children keep these alive. We live in a rather restrictive neighborhood and my neighbor is now calling us farmers. Pretty sad when a few containers qualify as a farm! Oh, to have acreage and livestock like JenIg
We are going to do a chick-hatching project in late April and you can be sure I will post about that then. My inner farm-girl will have to be satisfied one way or another!

oh my, you might get some angry commenters from the poor souls living in Montana and Michigan!!
what FUN! Me and Coie only miss California this time of the year. It is when everything is blooming and green. TN seems to have pretty nice weather but it is nothing like CA or FL!

No fair!!! It is suppose to freeze here this week. I am actually so jealous that I am pouting. This displaced Floridian is in agony. Where is that cheesecake? I need cheesecake!!!!!
So you are the friendly neighborhood farmer? Now all you need is your country mouse friend to show up with her hordes of children and shout things like "Y'all stay on the sidewalk, that there's a street with cars, not a dirt road like our'ns." That'll get you talked about at the next home owners meetin' for sure. But then again, I think the chilckens just may do that anyway, so I guess I have to stay home. : (

O wow....Florida is sounding quite tempting. I've always said I could never live where they have all those poison snakes that don't get killed off by our winters up here. But a lot of people like Florida, so it must not be that bad.
Just today my hubby emailed me that he heard from his friend he used to work with, who is now in FL. He says, "Come on down...the pay is great." Hm.....working for the State of MI has its $ challenges. Maybe we'll think about it!
