Jan. 19, 2008 - Sanctity of Life
This Sunday is Sanctity of Life Sunday and so I thought it the perfect day to let people know about a beautiful book written by my very good "real life" friend Bobbi Grubb. Masterpiece of Joy is the story of Bobbi and her husband's seven year struggle with infertility and ultimate open-adoption of two wonderful boys. This book is straight from the heart and even if you have never struggled with these issues it will be a tremendous blessing. We can't forget to pray for those can not have children, those who are pregnant and don't know where to turn, and the children who wait everywhere for someone to love them.
For 35 years women have had the "choice" of allowing their babies to live or die. Unfortunately, millions have made a fatal choice. They kept a precious life from coming into the world and they harmed their own mind, body and spirit in the process. Women facing this decision and women facing a future of having made the wrong decision need our prayers. Thankfully in Bobbi's book, two mothers made a self-sacrificing, life-giving choice. And now Bobbi and her husband cherish the fruits of those decisions.
The picture links to Amazon if you'd like to purchase the book or read some reviews. Bobbi also works at a local crisis pregnancy center, speaking as well as counseling with young women facing these decisions. I love when I see people acting on their convictions and I pray that as the Lord allows me in this season and later in life, I'll have the ability and courage to act on my own convictions.

your two centsJan. 19, 2008 - Untitled Comment
Posted by crazybusyNeat, Cindy! I bet that's an awesome book! Believe it or not, my DH & I went through infertility for 18 months before finally getting pregnant with our first. It was a very difficult time- I thought I'd never become a mother. But, I eventually did. ;) Adoption's a great way to become a mom too!
Love, Alyssa

Posted by ReviewsbyHeidiThanks for sharing this book. I just read it recently and shared a review on my blog. I know how much Bobbi wants to spread the word among the homeschooling community.
Lucky you to know her "in real life".
