Show & Tell: Jared's 10th Birthday - Mar. 27, 2009

For Jared's 10th Birthday, we wanted to do something memorable. Unfortunately, every time I shopped for that "very special present" all I kept thinkging about were reasons NOT to buy it. VIdeo games? To easy to get obsessed. Legos? Jared has an entire dresser full of Legos already with the excess overflowing into a dozen plastic bins. Besides, I do not want to buy him something that I'm ust going to have to nag him about picking up. Spy Gear? Too many batteries required. You get the idea. Every item I picked up came with a reason NOT to buy. So, we bought Busch Garden passes instead.
It has been a couple of years since we were able to afford Busch Garden passes so we were ALL excited about Jared's birthday. However, we didn't tell him where we were going. We told him we were going Letterboxing and for a picnic and then took a long, round about way, to get there. He had no idea! All he knew was that he would be allowed to play to his heart's content at whatever park letterboxing took us. And he was happy with that. He was speechless when we pulled up to Busch Gardens and he realized we were actually going in! What a day! The weather was perfect ,and Jared had an unforgettable birthday!

Ohhhh that was a NEAT birthday gift ! I can see why he was very happy with his present. I know my boys would be ! [0= Thank you sooooooo much for sharing all those GREAT pics of your family. I need to plan something this fun for my boys and hubby.

Looks like you had an awesome time. We have yet to go over to Bush Gardens since we've moved here. I guess one day we'll get over there :-)

How incredibly fun!! I, like you, have a very hard time figuring out what to get my children for birthdays/Christmas. They have SO much already!
